I went to a Casting Crowns concert with my children....I was a raging alcoholic and bound by drugs.....when they sang this song I didnt know it was about adultery but it brought heavy conviction over me....I almost walked out of the church while they sang this song....but I couldn't leave because my sons were holding my hands one on each side ...looking at me in the eyes singing this song to me.....I was backslidden at the time so I understood how God was using all this conviction to wake me up......I ended up repenting about a year later....Bless Jesus....for breaking my heart again

I've always thought that this song is not just about cheating, its also about how we raise our kids. Don't ever make a promise to your child that you don't intend to keep. It shapes their ability to trust not only you as a parent, but their ability to trust that God will keep his promises. It is perfectly okay to say to them stuff like I will try my best but this or that may happen, it teaches them that even parents have to live in the real world and sometimes things come up and plans change. You didn't break a promise, you told them you would try to get it done, its called managing expectations.

In the song “Slow Fade," by contemporary Christian artists “Casting Crowns" the lyrics read: “The journey from your mind to your hands is shorter than you're thinking." The song is about the process of sin as it begins in our minds and transforms, through compromise, into actions.

My wife of 15 years abandoned me last year. I got home from work early in the morning with a "Dear John" letter. A few months before she left i caught her talking to another man. I would have never known she would leave me. Ever. I actually believed our only separation was death. We have been through multiple combat deployments in Iraq and I am currently in law enforcement now. That song is true. It's a slow fade. If only she sought the Lord and talked to me about what was going on with her. Her relationship with Christ is severed so I am doubly troubled because it's not just my relationship with her that's in trouble. She didn't leave me any contact information so I don't know if she's even alive. I am still hoping and trusting God will reconcile us together but I know she first has to reconcile with God.

Communication is so key in a relationship. Just remember you going through this trial you will not stay here. A year from now you will look back and see the goodness of God. May God heal your heart and remove every pain you feel. This will be a testimonial for someone one day.

I know this song is primarily about adultery, but all sin is a slow fade. The more consumed you get in your sin the farther you get from the Lord. Your children will know what love is by watching you. Parents be mindful the respect you show your spouse because your children are learning what is acceptable by watching you. If you don't show respect and love, your children will marry people who will treat them the same way. We have no idea the price our children will pay for the mistakes we make. I watched my mother struggle and vowed that I would never be like her, but in the end she showed me what not to do. I have a newfound respect for my mother because she suffered alot. She believed in men who continually failed her. One thing I learned that she never failed to pray through it all, and I am constantly praying to God and He has blessed me. I have a great husband and two wonderful boys. I live a life that is so blessed. Thank you God for blessing us!

The message in this song is so timeless. As Proverbs 4:23 states, “Above all guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Also, Matthew 5:8 states, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see (experience) God.” If we desire to live a life of close communion with God, we must be “vigilant” In our thought life. We must take “Godly Fear” and “uncompromising integrity” in order to be all our “Creator” made us to be. 🤔

It's amazing how parallel each by song by Casting Crowns is to real life. They cover almost every issue. I mean, I appreciate every Christians artist's message, but it's the songs by Casting Crowns that really make you think about things that occur in your everyday life that you wouldn't normally realize. Falling away from God doesn't always just happen immediately. It can be a slow process. You may not realize it at first, but no matter how small or how big a sin is, sooner or later, it can and will take control over you. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's very important to ask God for forgiveness, because if you don't realize that what you're doing is wrong, then that "slow fade" begins. But it can also be stopped. Not trying to sound like a downer, it's just something to think about. Fortunately, God loved us enough to send his one and only son to die for us to escape that slow fade. (Totally off topic, but what other religion could say that?)

Speaking of family problems, I heard a sermon where the pastor's friend boarded a plane. He was sitting next to a woman who was praying. So he asked her if she was a Christian. The woman replied that no, she was actually a witch, and she and the other witches in her coven have been praying for the destruction of the Christian family. It looks like their prayers are working. This tells us how much we ourselves have failed to pray. The Enemy has already succeeded in getting his followers to pray against us.

Just got done praying in the corner and crying to Jesus , it’s a slow fade oh I How I suffer but I won’t for once give what my flesh wants just to be pleasured . Pray for me as I have my daughter and wife next to me I can’t fail

This is so heartbreaking. I burst into tears in the first verse . Those of us who spend time away from our families are so vulnerable. Only a fool would think that he's impervious to such temptation. Oh Lord, thank you for my precious wife. And I pray for Pastors who have been unfaithful to their wives and families . Bring them to true repentance.

There is a famous saying that says: "When elephants fight, it's the grass that suffer." Translation, when a mom and dad fight, it's the CHILDREN that suffer. Children may be quiet and don't know what to say, but down deep, they feel whole world is collapsing over them. Just realize what your children are going through mom and dad. Your children matter.

May God continue to bless this group with a great talent and voices to bring glory to Him. It's a slow fade. Unfortunately, sometimes innocent pay consequences of a person's mistake. Just be careful and apply the golden rule. Do to others as you would like to be done to you.

This song reminds me of a dark time in my life when I did some things that destroyed my marriage several years ago. I used to listen to this song at that time and it felt so painful... Almost 20 years later, I'm with my wife again, we have 2 beautiful girls, and now I listen to this and I thank God that time is over in my life. Life is good. Creator of life is good.

Loved Casting Crowns in concert. This song hit home for me, I lost my husband 3 years ago to suicide, he was consumed by the demons of his child hood, depression and alcohol. This song has so many meanings as we dealt with the depression and alcohol and tried to save him. For me the song slow fade is his alcohol & depression dragging him so low that he took his life. My daughter found him taking his last breathe and I found him an hour later. The price was paid....we deal with the night mares he left behind, we watched him slowly drink himself into a deep darkness. Today I struggle....I pray for Jesus to walk with me in these hard days....one day at a time

God bless you so much, Casting Crowns, for writing and performing this song. It's so...anointed...It's the ONLY word to describe it. Resisting temptation is such an important skill for Christians to develop. James was right: 1. Submit to God (His half-brother), Resist the devil, and The devil will flee from you... Because Satan and his demons are cowards... But we need the training to resist and be reminded of that in church...God bless you.

This song focuses on a great message. “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.” Luke 12:2-3 NIV

I do. The sound of a lot of my childhood. And I hated it so stinking much. I was always in tears when they fought. As I got older and started raising my younger siblings, I would take them away from the shouting, away from the fighting. Even as a younger five year old I knew this wasn't how it was meant to be. I hope that I raised my siblings to know that was not how its meant to be.

I didn't cry but when I heard it my heart broke. My names Jordan i'm 17 and I recently got born agian but the old disires have not passed, I still swear, look at pornography, and get angry with my mother. I pray for mercy and love everyday but I live in constant fear. I know i'm still blined and sin, i'm scared that i'm still lukewarm and that GOD will cut me off if I don't change. I had an abusive, cheating father as a kid so the porn and swearing came at an young age, and me and my mother try to get along but its hard. I don't want to sin anymore but every time I try to resist the temptation is to great. I still want to be GODS child but i'm so scared and confused. Please pray for me.

+jack1234473 --You truly have my prayers!! What you are trying to do, we all struggle with: crucifying the flesh. You can quit those things with Jesus' strength, and I can quit smoking and going back to old ways. Together we can "do anything through Christ who gives us strength"!! Keep praying, keep trying, read your Bible and pray..we just try harder the next day and soon it'll come. We need to lean on the Lord.. *it WILL come*!! You have all my prayers, my brother, hang in there! Jesus *will* carry us though and He will *never* give up on you or me, so we cannot give up on Him OR us either, okay? God bless you and yours, little brother!!

I cry pretty much every time I hear this song. I do remember the times that I woke up in tears from hearing mom and dad yell at each other. I don't want to follow their example in my life. God came in a has completely changed my life i still get the flashbacks and sometimes rock my self to sleep because of the pain and the memories. Please be careful all those who are reading this to be aware of the words you use. The ones my parents said to me all those years ago are really accessible for the enemy. Your thoughts turn to words. Your words turn to actions. These actions are what can harm those people in your family. Abba Father loves us very much. I want to honour him with my life. Eventually when i have kids i want to make sure that they do not hear or see what i have seen so I learn from my heavenly father what this means.

As a child, I witnessed my parents yelling and it got physical. Ever since then I was afraid and had these flashbacks and now that I am almost 18 years old. I still get them which causes my anxiety at night and I always balanced them because of it. But now, God is dealing with my heart and learning to forgive my parents for bring exposed to this at a young age. Lastly, I know once I become a parent I don't want my children to be exposed to this kind of negative things. Reading your comment gave me some encouragement. Thanks!
