I've been sitting in my room with only one dim light on, crying my eyes out off and on for the past 30 minutes or so.... the only thing that's going through my mind as I listen to this is that I need Jesus now more than ever. I don't know myself with Him, and keeping God in life is something I don't want to take lightly or for granted anymore. I just feel so dejected and depleted from my trauma.... Please help me, Lord. Your will is for my good. I'm sorry for all the times I wasn't able to recognize that.... 😢😞

This song is so true, and we need God to break our hearts for what breaks his, because sometimes we just "play church" and we don't really have a burden for winning souls or for worshipping God! Prayer warriors everywhere need to pray for "Christians" to really get a burden for God instead of just going through the motions!

This was one of the 1st songs I listened to 10 years ago when JESUS found me. And this morning I listen to it and thank GOD for changing this wretch of a man like me. The least of the least, horrible man. Facing no hope and suicide was my way out. Facing problems and no way out. 1st time I ever prayed. Really prayed asking for help on top of a mountain. And bam. HE found me. Took the world right off my chest. A testimony that is truly unbelievable. My precious brothers and sisters out there. Truly SEEK HIM with all your ❤. Our mighty JESUS deserves it all. Do not be afraid to tell others about Our KING. I truly am a walking miracle. Thank you JESUS ❤.

I cry every time I hear this song....I WAS that lost cause, I WAS that outcast, but He died for sinners just like me, and now I AM that greatful leper at His feet. I didn't come to Him by someone telling me they loved me, but hated my sin. I came to Him as David Crowder's song puts it, "Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes". Now all I want is for others like me to see His grace in my eyes, see His love in my actions, and to hear His voice in my words.
@kareninalabama5 ай бұрын
Amen! We were ALL that lost cause, we were ALL that outcast. Unfortunately, after receiving our gift of salvation, some of us forget this and begin to mistake the righteousness of Christ that covers our sins for our **own** righteousness, forgetting that NONE is righteous, not one, without the sacrificed blood of Christ.

This comment section saddened me more than any I've ever read, Christians are supposed to be better than this... The song lyric, "the worlds running to you, but their tripping over me," applies because Jesus told his disciples and all his followers that the only way to convert every time is to show his level of love and compassion... I don't see it anymore... "Nobody knows what we're for, only what we're against when we judge the wounded," no a bible verse, but true nonetheless

Im going through a season in my life where God is really showing me the power fear, pride, and judging, and how it stops you from getting anywhere. His power is greater though , and He wants us to let go and give it all to Him. This song is so good, because its showing how we need to show mercy and grace to these people instead judging them. Give the people the benifit of the doubt. You dont know what there going through, and how they grew up. That doesnt mean Im saying what their doing is right...but how are we going to lead people to Christ if all they know about us is that we judge, and arent taking the oppurtunitys to show love. Its not worth it...it brings you down, them down, and certainly doesnt please God. "So Jesus friend of sinners..open our eyes to the world of our pointing fingers. Let our hearts be lead by mercy, and Break our hearts for what breaks Yours."

Those that are pointing and judging people need to stand back and look at their own lives. Worry about their own salvation and weep and pray for others, but NEVER Condemn. It never fails to amaze how many people dont know the difference between judge and condemn. We are called to judge. We cant tell whats right and wrong without judging. To condemn is not our place. "the sword was never ours to swing." Its a small argument over terminology yet the difference is the detail that holds the power. Its not the judgement that is the offence its the condemnation, which is a sword we are not allowed to swing.

This song reminds me of how Jesus reached out to the Samaritan woman at the well although people would disapprove of Him talking to her. Christ healed people with leprosy although others stayed away from them because they considered them "unclean." Jesus offered both physical healing and forgiveness to the lives He touched. When the thief on the cross asked Jesus to remember him, Jesus said that they would meet in Paradise. Jesus called even a tax collector to follow Him, although they were seen as thieves. Jesus even forgave the disciple Peter after he denied knowing Christ 3 times. I am reminded that every Christ-follower was once an unbeliever. I still have hope that the people I love may be saved, and I pray for them. Thank you deeply to Casting Crowns for such wonderful lyrics and music. ❤

An important thing to remember is that the bible is to be STUDIED, not just read; and when you study it, it is important to take note of who (meaning what kind of person or group) the speaker is talking to. The harsh verses that christians like to attack people with, are actually being addressed to pharisee-type people. For example, the book of Romans was addressing a self-righteous group of people (Rom 2:17-24). He is trying to preach the gospel to a bunch of hipocrits (Rom 1: 15-17).

That's why Joshua declares "Take up your cross and follow me [not the law]." He means stop focusing on your flesh; and instead focus on you spirit. Have faith that Joshua will save you in spite of your sinful flesh. That is our blessed hope...and he will fulfill his promise. Therefore, the sign that a person is under grace is that he has "Hope." Agaist all odds (in spite of his sinful nature) he believes God will raise him from the dead.

John 3:17 is even better..."For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." Romans 4:4-5 states,"Now to him that works the reward is not reckoned as grace, but as debt. But to him that does not work, but believes on him that justifies the wicked, his faith is counted as righteousness." How come we never hear those verses in church?

Showing a person that, according to the Bible, they've sinned against an All-Holy God and are facing eternal condemnation is NOT judging them. However' stopping there can be. We must then show the sinner that there is Grace abounding for the forgiveness of their sins and that Jesus Christ will give you that forgiveness if you truly ask Him! But we Christians must learn to be "sober and vigilant", always being sensitive to God's will; trying to bring all sinners we interact with to Christ.
@melissaperry91246 ай бұрын
"The sinner" and "we Christians". Do you not get that this is what the song is about? We Christians are sinners. Pretending we're not is why people are tripping over us in trying to reach Jesus.
@NateK9412 жыл бұрын
You're all right. we're all human and make mistakes. Once we realize that, we can fully appreciate Grace, for "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". We Christians must remember to be humbled at all times by the truth of Christ's sacrifice, instead of thinking we're better that everyone else and judging people simply by what they wear, how they talk or how they look. Eternal destiny isn't to be taken so lightly as to judge on those trivial matters!
@MoltenStorm11 жыл бұрын
The problem is the attitude of the person doing the telling. If you see your brother doing wrong, you are to go lovingly and in a spirit of gentleness (Gal 6:1). Most tell a person they are sinning out of a self-righteous and condemning heart. It is the attitude that is most important to the Lord. This song is referring to those self-righteous Pharisees who condemn the world - and the Pharisees are the only ones the Lord berated. "Do justly, and love mercy, and walk humbly..." (Micah 6:8).
@NateK9412 жыл бұрын
Amen!!! It's our (Christians') place to judge by the Word of God, determining what is and isn't sin. Only God alone reserves the power to condemn. We simply warn unrepentant sinners of the coming Condemnation!
