Regarding the "noble shoppers," it was common for nobility to send their servants to market instead of going themselves. I think that's likely for this population, so they could be considered to be unambiguously employed as servants.

Also, it's likely that a large number of people in town are there only to buy or sell, and that they live somewhere in the surrounding countryside, which explains why the town seems so focused on shopping.

Missed the one dude who clean your shoes (for money) and the people in the shop in front of which he sits. There are also some more Gorons spelling potions and oil (I think) in a semi-hidden building. All are accessible from the main square. Also, Agitha is a child, so she should be 'not eligible'. Other than that, great vid. Love to see Zelda stuff.

Ya how did he miss Malo mart Or pre Malo Malo mart (idk original name ) There's old lady wanting donations the salesman shoe shiner/door greeter and a few more in there Also yes the tower he missed with gorons and some people lookin into the square I think I rarely go in there I also think he missed a couple guards by some gates and a bunch show up when you walk through as a wolf And if you wanna get technical he should have went through the castle near the start as a wolf where you see tons of guards in the sewers and around the towers and stuff Also the castle at end of game technically all the darknuts should count as higher ranking guards I guess

To politely argue, I'd counter that many of the people shopping are probably employed, and not just rich people - particularly the ones holding heavy things. I feel like the wealthier folks would hire servants to do the shopping, especially for heavy things and ingredients, since they probably aren't cooking for themselves. Most of the people walking with just bags probably aren't working. (I was going to say I don't want to argue, I do because I find this so fascinating and love this series so much it's a lot of fun!!!)

There are also a significant number of soldiers shown in the flashback to Zant's takeover of Castle Town, and since Zelda surrendered, I think it COULD be assumed that most of them survived the encounter and thus should be counted as well. However, I'm not sure if I would personally assume that; Zant is depicted as cruel, traitorous, and unhinged, and his troops spend the entire game pillaging and harassing towns that are presumably already under his rule thanks to the aforesaid surrender. It IS likely that a good chunk of the soldiers depicted in that cutscene were slaughtered anyway, despite his victory.

it had such a long development time so at least we didn't end up with a tiny number of dungeons from all the cuts, like the previous zelda but there were still corner-cutting areas. I mean filling the town up with fully-detailed and unique NPCs is still a ton of work, but not being able to talk to them negates most of what makes that work worthwhile in the first place. They could at least have had a generic "townsfolk" name and spouted out a few shared lines of dialogue. or hell, have some of them be snootysnoots who visibly dismiss you when you try to communicate, that would be appropriate.

2:43 - Ah-Ha! I think we can get two birds with one stone Austin. Solve both the Rich People question and the Drifter Question, at least in terms economics, we typically only count people who are both capable of work (as in Men and Women of Adult Age who are not impaired or infirmed by old age or sickness or disability) and who actively look for work (meaning we exclude both house wives of wealth men and aimlessly street loungers who relax next to a dog). So good call on those women, even if the reasoning you gave is floppy and kind of prone to debate, but we should be consistent and have a strong reason so you can definitely state your case and keep a consistent score.

Unemployment is calculated by taking in all able bodied, working age 18-65, citizens that are not currently under payroll by a company, either as an employee, a contractor or as an employer. In America we calculate unemployement differently than every other country, to make our numbers look better, since we do not consider anyone currently taking any government or insurance benefit, anyone who was let go or fired in the last 6 months, and anyone who has not been formally fired, but had their scheduled weekly hours reduced to 0. Stay at home parents, regardless of child age, can also be considered N/A or employed for the sake of unemployment rate. Some people who are unemployed, but looking for a job can also be considered N/A. People also gaining taxable income, regardless of working, doing anything to earn it or employement status, such as landlords, are also considered employed. And this is insane, but in many cases if your family has a family business that employs some of your other family members, it is assumed you're employed under it, regardless of provable income. Many of these are not considered in other countries, and alot of them take a hard line with "Able to work, 18-65, Earning taxable income". Not even by America's wacky ass ways to lower the numbers does "Spending Money" mean you're employed. Spending money and buying food is a requirement to live. Homeless people and rich people spend money to live. If they are not working, and don't have a valid reason to not be working, are 18-65, they are unemployed. And no "having alot of money in my bank account" is not a legally valid reason to remove somebody from the employment rate.

Surprised this only took one day; it sure looked like Link had to spend a couple nights in Castle Town performing the survey.
