What type of brake valve is used in the green locomotive? What engine and transmission does it have?

Brake valve is just cheap off shelf two port valve basically on off but can be set up for anything And the engine is kubota diesel engine paired with a 5 speed manual small truck transmission the loco is 20 years old

Great video - brings back many memories! :-). Thanks! BTW where you load/unload 5" gauge stock onto the tracks nowdays? All I can see is 7.25" up by the sheds etc. Or do you no longer do 5" at CMR?

There are facilities for 5 inch stuff by workshops there are steaming bays and multi gauge loop behind workshops that both gauges share going around and it’s called the convention loop

@@dylanaudrain Thanks - I remember the convention loop from when I was a member back in the convention days! (Spent many hours on building stuff in time for the convention. I just wasn't sure if there were still 5" facilities, so thanks for confirming :-). I know the raised small gauges loop was removed decades ago as it was a lot of maintenance for something used by very few.

Yes it was removed but the 5 rail in the loop has been fixed and we have some members sometimes run their locos so more the merrier

We all use collie coal here in WA yes it does sometimes become smokey
