Marc liked a few elements of the second Netflix Castlevania show, but thinks it was unfocused and was heavier on the fanfic than the source material. #castlevania #castlevanianocturne #netflix

Dracula is already alive. There has been no update on what happened to Vlad & Lisa since their resurrection after Trevor spilt the rebis with the cross blade at the end of season 4. Annette is an updated rendition to a slave descended from the Yoruba cutoff from her ancestors because of the plantation owner who also happens to be a vampire. A nod to Anne Rice’s “Interview with The Vampire” I rather enjoy. Edouard being a night creature is bridging a skill & durability gap in the party. But his memory retainment was previously established by Issac. After Dracula pushes him through the mirror Issac kills the people that threaten him at the oasis. The leader of which he brings back binds & drags across the desert from his own horse. Memories are tied to the length of time in hell but through conversations between Issac & Flyeyes they are not wiped from the soul. As even a berry can return those to philosopher killed during the rise of Christianity. Ultimately it ended the same way the first season of Castlevania did with the awaken of Alucard to the woes of the world & setting the stage for the battle ahead.

It's pretty vicious of Maria to not care about the innocent priests getting murdered by guillotine because of her precious revolution.
@IrisCorven7 ай бұрын
I mean, they kind of explain why Eduardo retains his humanity. It's due to the "imperfect" creation process from the chamber attempting to replicate what a real Forgemaster does. And the origin of that machine wasn't expanded on, leading me to believe Isaac worked towards "fixing" that issue with Night Creature creation. I do agree the season itself was disjointed, and unfocused, and spent way too much time on sideplot. But to be fair, the first season of Castlevania was 4 episodes, also felt disjointed, rushed to the end as fast as it could, and is easily the weakest of the four seasons.

Shame that this is the first time Juste Belmont has shown up since his GBA game.

I’m just so happy the race swapped characters. Made everyone gay. And lectured me about slavery. Lectured me on why religion is evil. Those were my absolute favorite parts and I was glad they added them.
@Zye19847 ай бұрын
Race swapped characters? The two black characters are completely new for the show afaik. Or do you mean Isaac in the first series? But yeah, shoehorning all that seems like a disservice to the franchise. Not everything has to be political. On the other hand, Isaac was a super deep character because of it though. These two new characters though, it's obvious they were added for for one purpose only. As forever the religion thing, that is very much Castlevania. It's the whole reason things go the way they did. However, I do get confused that the vampire hunters use holy items to fight with when religion=bad in the games.

Yeah Alucard takes over for Richter in Symphony of the Night (often argued as the best Castlevania game) - he then shows up in the two games set in the 2030s, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. They’re quite good too, I recommend playing them - I also hope Alucard returning improves the show and they pull everything together, I just thought it was quite a poorly constructed start

@@lippycruz3819in that case I STRONGLY recommend giving symphony of the night a shot - it’s one of the best Metroidvania-style games of all time (it was the original “vania” in that portmanteau)

But Marc we need to include a whole diverse cast with strong women and non binary vampires to make the show super kew! Dracula is toxic strong male. We can't have him there.

I still can't believe the first Castlevania anime ended with Vampire Hitler acconplishing his major goals and getting rewarded with getting his wife back with no repercussions.
@oscaralbertococanodiaz21358 ай бұрын
True; that end was awful. But nobody cares and are ok with a genocide Lord vampire getting reformed with a happy ending with his second wife.

I personally don't feel interested in watching Nocturne. Race swapping characters for hollywood, a majority of black villagers for slavery agendas, Dracula is redeemed and happy, what else is there now to talk about Castlevania if its going to be about today's culture crisis? Its nothing like the games anymore. I just watched another person review this show and it is absolutely woke as we all feared. For those that like the show know nothing about the games. Go watch Albeleo's take on it and its titled Castlevania Nocturne is an absolute travesty. Its very detailed and it does contain spoilers but who cares anyway? The writing is bad, the animation is bad and the characters are bad, even Richter. Fuck this show. I feel I'm better off with the first 4 seasons and end it there.

My problem is that they hardly have any development on the two lead characters and 90% of the lore they did use, has nothing to do with the source material, while also setting it within the French Revolution and not going into any detail at all about Maria’s connection to the revolutionaries. They might have been doing worldbuilding, but that was very thin worldbuilding at best.

I thought it was really good and i knew it was going to be an adaptation, not a 1:1 retelling of a game that barely had any plot. Most complaints i've seen are (not so) thinly veiled tantrums over Anette being black or about side characters that just so happen to not be straight for variety.

It has elements that I wasn't quite fond of as it's kind of the 'meta' of our current society, pushing the narrative on LGBTQ and Black people? Other than that it was amazing

Remember guys, characters existing outside the "normal" of being hetero and white, is being forced upon us. These types of people don't exist and their stories are never worth telling.

Ah yes black and gay people famously didnt exist in revolution era France, only neon pink vampires and zombies, that part is ok.

Having to beat dracula back to back is good for a game. But for a series? That'd be boring, imagine watching any movie, where the characters are forced to fight the same beaten dog over and over again.
