As great as it is that Castlevania: Requiem exists , I would still love to have a physical release. Mega Man got the legacy collections, which are fantastic. I would really like to see something similar for CV, but I guess Konami doesn’t like money unless it’s spilling out of a pachinko machine...

PS4 port sure makes me happy. Never bothered with PC Engine emulators, didn't have PSP or Wii.

It's been frustrating, how difficult it is to get a hold of Rondo Of Blood. Hopefully after the PS4 port it will head to other systems.

I know plenty of people dislike the remake's 3D look, and the cutscenes, but I've never really seen someone say that they disliked the gameplay. I always really enjoyed it because of how much easier they made it to use Richter's backflip. In the original Rondo you need to double tap jump as you ascend, but in the remake it lets you do it at the apex of your jump as well. It made it feel alot more fair since it never failed to recognize when you wanted to backflip. I agree with you on the original being better though, besides small issues with the controls it just does more right then the remake did. Also, Requiem for Switch had better happen.

I don't know if it's because of the presentation, however I find actually playing Chronicles quite awkward. It might just be because I'm used to playing Rondo Of Blood, something just feels off. I agree though, Requiem needs to be ported everywhere :)

From my experience Chronicles felt horrible to play for several reasons. 1. Frame Rate is halved The original game would of ran at 60fps the new 3d version is capped at 30, this makes your reaction time halved which can be frustrating on bosses and on the whole a less responsive feeling game. 2. UGLY ASS GAME Much of the spectacle of the game a driving force of the game is lost when every looks like a cheap early ps2 game. Parts which were intimidating or impressive have turned into the comical. 3.Bad animations In comparison to the sprite work, the new animation is clunky and unimpressive at times lacking weight. This negatively effects the game feel, so the game feels more like a chore. All these things would be whatever if you could just unlock the original game through a cheat code but you can't you must play through 4 Stages of it to get to Rondo. Quite frankly I couldn't stomach it for that long.

Richter is looking very slick in Chronicles. I think Ayami Kojima's designs for the PSP version are for the most part fantastic. I'm really fond of Dracula and Maria's designs for that version as well.

Im gonna be honest here, i did not nearly have as much fun with Rondo of Blood as i did with the other Classicvanias. It wasn't a bad time by any means, and i did try a replay that i still havent finished, but my friends had hyped it up so much that i admit i had expectations that were pretty high that, honestly the game just didn't match up to (hell in some areas I actually thought it was a **downgrade**like Richters speed vs the monsters). I also dont like mandatory secret hunting (something the series picked up as a signature thing, which is the one thing about it I do not enjoy). I dont think it was a bad game, far from it, but I wonder if whether i hyped myself too much for Rondo when i was going through the Classicvanias and just undersold myself Music absolutely slapped though

If you want to play Rondo in 2020 get a MiSTer FPGA - much better than the bad emulation and bad scanlines they gave us on PS4.
