While Lenore is based on the succubus (from Symphony of the Night), she also reminds a little of Camilla's servant in Rondo of Blood, Laura. During the fight with Carmilla, Laura acts like a helpless victim, waiting to be rescued, but approach her and she shows her true colors by grabbing you and draining you of energy; and when cornered, she also proves a capable fighter. Yeah, this would've been more relevant last season, especially when Hector made the mistake of attacking her, but I didn't think about that character until just now.

Still relevant now and appreciate you telling us about that character 😀

The conversation between Lenore and Carmilla really shows where both characters' are really at. Lenore is a manipulator and a diplomat, a politician, but she ultimately is able to relate , even to humans, and never bites off more than she can chew, hoping for everyone to get the best result possible. (Keep in mind she gave everything she promised Hector to the letter. Even though she had no incentive as he literally HAS TO DO what they order him) Whereas Carmilla is the polar opposite. She is magalomania personified. She hates "evil old men" but she doesn't see that she's exactly what she's become or rather doesn't WANT to see

This episode is really where we start to see the differing desires between the vampires of Styria. There's one particular conversation later in the season that I'm a big fan of and I can't wait to see your reaction to it.

We get another reference to the throwing knife sub weapon. 8:33-8:35 There are a couple of games that have a javelin or throwing spear as a sub weapon; this could be a nod to it. 8:55- 9:05 If you know, you know. In Simon's Quest, there are magic crystals that help you progress through the game, and there's also a crystal sub weapon. "Which one is this?" you may ask; well, you'll just have to wait on that one.

Carmilla's got all these plans... Little does she know that an army is heading for her doorstep.

Fun fact: "The Danesti girl is a reference to Grant Danasty, the playable thief dude from the Castlevania games who was a werewolf boss."

Just and FYI if you are interested in the lore of Castlevania as a whole: the last three episodes of this show swerve hard away from canon. To the point where the game Curse of Darkness, which takes place only a couple years after these events, is completely ignored. Which is odd, since Hector and Isaac only appear in Curse of Darkness, so they were definitely pulling from the game as source material.

Carmilla might be _downright crazy,_ but her whole "They left us to die F every last one of 'em!" thing, isn't. It's natural. I mean, _I've_ been through it myself, with these badge-wearing ticketmongers we call cops 'round these parts.
