My Wife is 43 weeks tomorrow officially. This is our fifth. She takes the fourth and final tablespoon in 10 minutes. We're hoping this works because if not our homebirth plans may go out the window. All four have been born at home and our 5yo daughter plans to catch the baby with me. So really hoping and praying. 😢

Same thing happened to me. Castor oil will do that. We didn’t make it in time I delivered in a ambulance. It’s called rapid labor. I had no breaks in between contractions or was able to catch my breath. It’s nasty stuff but works. Make sure your near a hospital.

This is so adorable!! I’m due tomorrow, and my midwife told me to take castor oil today. This is my 3rd baby as well and I’m so happy you delivered safely. Praying I have a similar experience as you.

I just did 2 oz of castor oil. 39 weeks 2-3 cm and 40-50% effaced. This is my 6th home birth, 6th time using it but normally I use more. Hope it works again this time. Normally I wait until 42 weeks

@@Mrstanks yes it did, but I had to take more 3 days later. It caused me to become 6 cm and 70% effaced, so I did it once more and baby came out later the next day!

Didn’t work for me just terrible diarrhea bad cramps. I tried it at 40 weeks 5 days had already been 2cm and after trying this still 2cm so it must be a 50/50 thing have heard from close ppl it worked for them so it still work just taking a chance

How long did diarrhea last ? 😭 second time taking it and I just got bad stomach ache and diarrhea but with my first pregnancy it worked had him within 12-24hrs

I had blinding stomach pain because of this technique. It was absolutely vile and didn't put me into labour at all just really messed me up

I tried twice, I just get diarrhea and a little bit of contractions, nothing painful though. So frustrating it’s not working for me. I took 2 tablespoons and orange juice after for two consecutive days and nothing. I’m 38 weeks. 😭

I tried the primrose oil on Saturday night around 8pm, started having contractions around midnight. At 6am I was 2cm, at 10 am I was 5cm and got admitted, I had my baby at 17:24 that Saturday! She’s a week old now 😅 I don’t know if it really was because of the oil or just her that wanted out. Maybe both.

So what you took was the stimulant laxative right? Not the oil that you use for like hair and skin right?

Not in any case you will be able to induce labour by swallowing castor oil, for you will have to distinguish: - In the case that your liver will be without any toxins your gall will be without any toxins too. So, moving the bowels by taking a good dose castor oil will be experienced always as harmless and short lasting, for the PGE2-synthesis will not happen and so you will not be able to induce labor. - In the other case that after having swallowed a good dose castor oil a lot of toxins will be liberated in the liver and excreted with the gall in the duodenum the PGE2-synthesis will occur with cramps of the bowels and the womb, and this one may be experienced as harmful and long lasting and so you will be able to induce labor.

Simply because I didn’t have all the official ingredients haha. I think the other stuff is just meant to help mask the taste of the castor oil anyway, which is why I plugged my nose and gulped it down without really tasting it 👍
