I like regular castor oil over JBCO. I think JBCO is much thicker and leaves my scalp feeling so greasy

That might be because it's so waxy it creates a seal almost, and shampoo often isn't the right product to remove it. Try mixing it with another oil, or using another lighter oil to remove it. It will wash out way better that way. Other oils or conditioner is the keys to dissolving castor oil out of your hair and off your scalp. You don't want it to block the hair follicles with it.

I'm biased because I'm a big fan and user of oils, but your hair really does look great after your oil treatments 🙌🏾 I haven't used regular castor oil, but I do use Taliah Waajid's JBCO and love it. I love to boost my shampoos, conditioners, and leave-ins with oils, as well as to treat my scalp and ends. 💦

You can find regular castor oil in a lot of health food/ vitamin shops. I'm currently using olive, jojoba, and jbc oil mix. But plan on going back to either just olive or castor oil when that's gone.

Also for the shedding idk if you have tried but aloe gel (the edible one, lily of the desert) on your scalp (& hair) after you wash helps a ton. I like to put it on after my leave in before my stylers, it balances the ph and clumps your hair too but over time it has thickened my hair by reducing shedding & overall improved the health of my scalp. Game changer

I think what u should never do is cowash with tons of oil in ur head because it’s gonna clog ur hair and the pores in your scalp. Washing ur hair with shampoo and conditioner every week or 2 weeks and cowash in between gives you a healthy balance.

Hello M.A.D.CURLS! I also love castor oil! I like to incorporate it into oils for my hair, face and body. TaylorAnne, have you two ever dipped into ayurvedic treatments for the hair such as amla, brahmi, and shikakai? These powders can be incorporated into deep conditioners or just used by themselves with water and oil. I think it's worth looking into for hair health improvement. TFS and God bless! xoxo

Your hair looks very moisturized and soft. May I suggest for your hot heat, that when you heat it for the second 45 seconds that you actually turn the hot head inside out, then back for the last 45 seconds. I think you will see that the hot head is hotter. I do a hot oil once a month as well as clarify once a month. A tip I was given a couple of years ago, was to use a moisturizing shampoo as your second wash when clarifying, it adds back the moisture you took out when you clarified. I have to say that it does work. I am a shampooer but do use co-washes. I do not feel that any co-wash can really get the oils out of your hair after using oil to detangle and a hot oil treatment. After all a co-wash is a conditioner. In my second year of transitioning, I was on the DevaCurl band wagon and did nothing but co-wash, I do believe my hair took a toll for just co-washing. I started researching this and a number of youtubers were not in favor of using co-washing as their main way of cleansing. I love you TA and I want your hair to be beautiful and healthy, so I am giving you the best of my knowledge. Like your Mom says, "when you know better, you do better." Stay blessed!

Go easy on the harsher detergents, and if possible leave off the sodium LAUREL sulphate (sulfate?). It's the harshest cleaner out there, used for floors in industrial cleaning! I'd lay off the lightening, too. So drying, as you say. Your hair would look gorgeous just its own natural colour. The oil did a great job.

USE ESSENTIAL OILS ON YOUR SCALP. i dilute like 30+ drops into like maybe 3 or 4 tablespoons of carrier oil and do like a 20 to 30 minute scalp massage. And after 3 or 4 times my hair loss was reduced by like at least 60-70% (rosemary, peppermint, tea tree, cedarwood, lavender,, whatever you know will be good for your own scalp. Do Your Own Research. But in my opinion it works. Can't wait to get my hands on some J.B.C.O. I'm also out for some sandalwood oil🤔 and jasmine oil😍😍😍

It’s possible the dryness of your hair could be from coconut oil overload. Coconut oil is put into almost every single natural hair product. Coconut while moisturizing for some also is Naturally drying. It naturally makes Cetyl Alcohol (which makes hair soft But I think it dries too quickly on the Hair Shaft) if not coconut oil it’s self it also could be the grade of oil that manufacturers are using...I can’t use it anymore. Dries my Hair out, causes Shedding & inflames my scalp😢

The most important application of castor oil will be to take this internally in a regular manner, this one not only to empty the bowels from all the waste deposed there, but especially to cleanse the human body from all poisons and heavy metals (mercury!) via the liver, this one in the following manner: Take regularly early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil and you will be astonished upon the health benefits.

I was clarifying every wash day too lol! It felt good for a while, but then I started noticing it staying moisturized for less and less time. Oddly my hair would feel like it def was moist when wet, but lacked any oils internally to keep it supple and soft. My hair doesn’t absorb raw oils well at all and just sits on top, so I’ve been using conditioner more often and have noticed so much improvement!
