I saw a good tip. Start painting the BACK of all cabinet doors, let dry and flip over so that the last is the face to be painted so you don’t have to lay the face down on any wood or other surface, that can damage or chip the face of the cabinets.

Nice work! I don’t have a right angle drill adapter so when trying to unscrew something at an odd angle I use a socket wrench and have found that my phillips head bits (single sided, not the double sided bits containing phillips/flathead options) will fit snug within a 10mm or 11mm socket.

Hmm, I'm just about done doing my kitchen in a slightly brighter shade of blue gray, but I rolled it with a nap roller than back brushed it. No big difference that I can see but it might have been easier to do your way. I just pulled almost the last batch of doors in from the garage today and did find one that had some drips on one edge so I'll sand that back down tomorrow and retouch it up. It's looking pretty good and WAY cheaper than putting in new cabinets or having someone else paint them.

Me too! There was so much grain. I tried a few different things I saw on KZbin but the best was actually the cheapest. I brushed on watered down drywall mud, let it dry, sanded, sprayed on some shellac based primer, and now I’m painting them and they look good!

@JustMe-jc2ft Stop being a hater it's overrated. He did a great job and he is still alive. Do you think mechanics all wear gloves when touching cancer causing oil and chemicals? Let the man be, what do you care about his skin?
@colleenhaines3835Ай бұрын
@@JustMe-jc2ftIf you rewind the video you will see he used "TSP Substitute". It's probably milder than TSP. Already saw that you had posted this same comment earlier and got a common sense reply. Given all the instructions he gave so explicitly, I would say he knows what he's doing...not his first rodeo! If you look at the "TSP Substitute" container you can see 2/3 of it has already been used. If he had received a burn/inflammation from it he'd definitely be telling viewers "wear gloves".

@colleenhaines3835 hey you all can all get cancer if you want, but make no mistake about it, degreasers move right across the skin barrier. This might seem trivial to some but I would recommend painting the inside part of the door / panel / drawer, etc first then paint the outside part - why?... because if you paint the outside part first then you have to flip it over and do the outside - well, the outside part can get scratched or pick up some debris or secondary paint, etc. and the outside of the door is obviously the part of the door you see. Great video!

That’s what the tsp substitute was for basically if I’m not wrong. You could also use what they call liquid sandpaper. It’s basically paint stripper but it’s diluted so it just basically roughens the surface for the paint to adhere well.
