I saw a good tip. Start painting the BACK of all cabinet doors, let dry and flip over so that the last is the face to be painted so you don’t have to lay the face down on any wood or other surface, that can damage or chip the face of the cabinets.

Nice work! I don’t have a right angle drill adapter so when trying to unscrew something at an odd angle I use a socket wrench and have found that my phillips head bits (single sided, not the double sided bits containing phillips/flathead options) will fit snug within a 10mm or 11mm socket.

Good job brother I like this color. Two quick tips...One, always pour paint using the back side of can so it doesn't get paint on the front where it tells you what product it is. Two, paint back first then front of door cabinet/drawer

There's really no reason to get any paint down the side of the tin if you're careful. At worst wipe it quickly off with a brush...

Love this color! Almost finished with my kitchen cabinets. Dont know why i waited so long to do it. Used powder tsp and wore gloves. Water turned black from cleaning. Applied one coat tinted primer, two coats paint. Dont let lazy paint guy tell you he cant tint primer. This is so easy and seems like solid paint job.

Hmm, I'm just about done doing my kitchen in a slightly brighter shade of blue gray, but I rolled it with a nap roller than back brushed it. No big difference that I can see but it might have been easier to do your way. I just pulled almost the last batch of doors in from the garage today and did find one that had some drips on one edge so I'll sand that back down tomorrow and retouch it up. It's looking pretty good and WAY cheaper than putting in new cabinets or having someone else paint them.

Me too! There was so much grain. I tried a few different things I saw on KZbin but the best was actually the cheapest. I brushed on watered down drywall mud, let it dry, sanded, sprayed on some shellac based primer, and now I’m painting them and they look good!

Thank you so much for the video. It gives me the confidence to give my cabinets a shot. My cabinets are oak and are over 30 years old. My latest quote for cabinet replacement is $35,000 and is probably the best quote I have gotten yet. My question to you my friend is do you really think I have a shot at making this happen? I have by the way used the all in one paint on other projects and love the brand. I'm also looking for the grain not to show through. Any ideas? Just more coats? Thank you.

I just did this on my bar cabinets. Used Sherwin Williams enamel for trim. High end stuff. 2 coats each side. Took a full week to finish. Very good coverage. You can barely see the grain. It gives it a bit of texture but looks great. I'm far from a pro but it wasn't bad. You may want to use paint tripods.

@colleenhaines3835 Ай бұрын
@@JustMe-jc2ftIf you rewind the video you will see he used "TSP Substitute". It's probably milder than TSP. Already saw that you had posted this same comment earlier and got a common sense reply. Given all the instructions he gave so explicitly, I would say he knows what he's doing...not his first rodeo! If you look at the "TSP Substitute" container you can see 2/3 of it has already been used. If he had received a burn/inflammation from it he'd definitely be telling viewers "wear gloves".

@colleenhaines3835 hey you all can all get cancer if you want, but make no mistake about it, degreasers move right across the skin barrier. Once thru they're going to be filtered out by the liver and kidneys. Im just thinking gloves are much cheaper than livers and kidneys. But you make your own choices

This might seem trivial to some but I would recommend painting the inside part of the door / panel / drawer, etc first then paint the outside part - why?... because if you paint the outside part first then you have to flip it over and do the outside - well, the outside part can get scratched or pick up some debris or secondary paint, etc. and the outside of the door is obviously the part of the door you see. Great video!

That’s what the tsp substitute was for basically if I’m not wrong. You could also use what they call liquid sandpaper. It’s basically paint stripper but it’s diluted so it just basically roughens the surface for the paint to adhere well.
