Could the fire covenant have been for less on Ashaya since he also killed the Circle of Dreams Druid, which would have made the ashaya die due to fewer lands?

At 20:25, I think Fire Covenant could've killed most of Marwyns creatures and also ashaya because she gets smaller with each creature dying.
@Zzectbu
@Zzectbu Жыл бұрын
Yeah, this is 100% correct. I think Marwyn was a 3/3 there, the Duskwatch was a 2/2, everything else had 1 toughness besides the 9/9 Ashaya. Four damage on Ashaya, eight on the others, totally wipes Marwyn's board for twelve life rather than only killing Ashaya and the CoD Druid for 9 life.

SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yeah... I saw the writing on the wall when everyone left Edric alone for the sake of drawing cards off him. Edric thrives on the opponents' greed, and they're so blinded by it they don't realize it until it's too late.

If you have a look at the decklist you will realize that most creatures in the deck are elves. Also having an elf in the command zone that also profits from playing elves is enough for me for it to be elf tribal. Of course if that's enough for you I cannot decide, but I think it's fair

The Fire Covenant around 20 minutes in targeting Ashaya was...not optimal, unless the goal was to do limited damage and try to make Edric do more work. Ashaya's total toughness is equal to the number of creatures+other lands you control, so killing X/1s is literally free. In total, killing the Ashaya and the Circle of Dreams Druid cost 10 life. Killing Marwyn's entire board would have cost...I think Marwyn has two counters here, so a total of 12 life. With only three lands in play, Ashaya would have been reduced to a 4/4 after everything else died. IMO, it was probably correct for Edgar Markov to attempt killing literally everything except the hexproof thing and possibly Edric itself here and trust in overwhelming card advantage off Edric to compensate for the somewhat larger hit to life total. More generally, good to see you back posting!

Did not end up mattering, but I think that at 26:33 Network Disruptor should have tapped Dylan's only untapped vampire so that you can swing with Erdric. Also, if I'm not missing something, you should have attacked Dylan with Edric on that combat, even if he blocks his creature dies and next turn you get to draw a card.

18:25 You cannot do that. Warriors created with najeela don't have haste, and combat celebrant does not give haste, so 3 out of 4 tokens could not attack.

The Edgar list is very decent, most content creators running edgar have bad lists. Im surprised no impact tremors, yawg abd purphoros which are basically auto includes. Are you sacrificing power for flavour? A lot of fast mana in the form or mox diamond, lotus petal, chrome mox idk if this is the right deck for them. If youre goijg for a fast combo playe a better combo deck? How has pyre performed? Lastly, signets and talismans seem like a tempo loss in this deck: u wanna deploy creatures the first 3 turns not ramp

Couldnt jordan have just won the game on turn 4? Reconnaissance untapping the exerted celebrant and protecting it from damage, plus getting extra value from swinging other warriors with a najeela on board?
@thedoctor1471

you cannot exert twice the same turn, so he would have attacked, untap, attacked, over. That's a lot of damage but definitely not 120.
