One thing I've learned about tribal decks, the more efficient tribes are INSANE. Goblins, Zombies, HUMANS (thanks to MID), Vampires (always), Wizards and even Merfolk can lead to some spectacular games.

I prefer the lesser played tribes like nightstalkers, licids, nagas, frogs, and leeches no one sees their synergies coming. One often played tribe I do play tho is dragons and they are beautiful

@@kingfuzzy2 Torens, Katilda, and the new Sigarda help do everything the human tribe wants to accomplish. I guess being able to do infinite combat damage in something other than Boros, or drawing your entire deck in another color besides blue, never occurred this guy. Also, the lifegain synergies and really nasty stax pieces are ALL primarily in these colors. How many tribes can say they're able to Aetherflux people by doing nothing other than entering play and smashing people (no infinite combos required).

Tyler shouldn’t have died in that second game. When he cast Xyris the very next turn Chris used Skull clamp to draw two cards which should’ve given him 2 snake tokens. If I’m not mistaken when Dylan swung out at him he would’ve been able to block at least 6 more damage allowing him not to die to the one 3/4 attacker from Dylan a turn later. Big Xyris lover here wish to see more of it!! Edit: This is my personal High Power Xyris list with Primer if anyone is interested. www.moxfield.com/decks/uMq252_F4Um-uvNyVSFJUA

I have a muxus deck that I love very much, it used to be a wort, boggart auntie deck (my first edh deck). I know krenko gets most of the love for the mono red goblin tribal, but I hope this makes people look at muxus a little more. He won’t go as wide, but he’ll get the bigger players out and most times krenko will show up anyways. It’s always fun to roll the dice.

I love this edgar list!! Edgar was my first ever commander deck since I've always loved mtg vampires, but since I was just getting into magic at the time, I really didn't know how to make it good. For a while, I tried updating my edgar deck as I learned more about magic, but still didn't know how to make a good edgar deck. Recently, I wanted to revamp the deck, and came back to this episode for inspiration! I absolutely love Dylan's edgar deck and love the new edgar deck that I made.

To me, it's really funny as even your 'casual' games are the best gameplay I see here on youtube, from the other CEDH channels and even comparing to the 'cinematic experience' of gameknights. I believe that this is due to you guys being REALLY skillful at Magic, somethimg that I personally strive to be, in CEDH, yes, but also in the more 'casual/noncombo/combat damage' side of commander, that's also cool! Would love to see more of these gameplays from you!

With snoop and all the multi draw effects that happened (skullclamp and windfall), isnt the “play with your top revealed a state-based effect? And state based effects are only checked at any time a player could have priority right? So in the middle of a spell or ability resolving, no one has priority so you would only see the first card drawn since it was already revealed? I feel like im missing something, can someone explain where im wrong here?
@PhoenixRNH
@PhoenixRNH 2 жыл бұрын
I believe the change is more static and no matter what you do the top card will be revealed, even in between multi-draws
@Capybara496
@Capybara496 2 жыл бұрын
First: it's not a state-based effect. The state-based effects are predefined in the rules, and abilities of cards cannot create new ones (if I'm counting right, there are 18 of them). Snoop has a static ability which alters the way the game is played, meaning it can impact events that occur in the middle of a spell's resolution. Second: Rule 121.2 says "Cards may only be drawn one at a time. If a player is instructed to draw multiple cards, that player performs that many individual card draws." So, when you draw 10 cards with Snoop out, you draw the first card (which was already revealed), reveal the second, draw the second, reveal the third, etc.

Question for Dylan. Edgar is my favorite commander also and everyone I know says he can only be played in CEDH as a Razaketh combo deck whereas I think there could be a stax version of Edgar that is CEDH viable especially being in Mardu colors. Thoughts?
@MasterDecoy1W
@MasterDecoy1W 2 жыл бұрын
What are you getting out of Edgar as the General? Najeela has better aggro, Winota has better stax synergy, Kaalia has more explosive potential and synergy with cEDH lines. Even Marchesa seems like a superior choice to synergize with stax creatures.
@clrl936
@clrl936 2 жыл бұрын
What would be the point of Edgar? He need vampires to do anything and there arent any Staxy vampires out there to make a stax deck. If you are going to just use generic stax pieces, than any other mardu commander would do the same thing if not better
@johnblake255
@johnblake255 2 жыл бұрын
@@clrl936 that’s not entirely true. Vampires are very good at being aristocrats for the relic warder combo, and very good at using the black stax pieces in grave pact effects while Edgar provides the free tokens to sacrifice to grave pact effects and keep the board locked out of creatures. The meta, least near me, has really become more creature centric lately and grave pact effects have become a lot more potent as a result.
@johnblake255
@johnblake255 2 жыл бұрын
@@MasterDecoy1W right so, your statement is 100% true. Edgar, in my opinion as well, just isn’t as good as other commanders in that color combination. The point has more to do with, if you did want to play in CEDH, how would you play him since your statement can just as easily be applied to him as a commander in a combo based variant as well.
