If you want more info on the playmats we used in this video check out Dragon Shield's Nomad playmat on TCGPlayer here: bit.ly/casually-cedh-nomad . This is the second part of our 'Battle of the Builds' episode, so let us know what you think of this 2 part series. Also, if you've been looking forward to the budget decks, our regularly scheduled seasonal gameplay will continue this upcoming Friday with our first episode of this budgeted pod. Hope to see you there! *NOTE ON MANA ECHOS* Adam misunderstood how Mana Echos worked and didn't think he had enough mana to active the Sliver Queen. In practice, Mana Echos would have counted both slivers and would have generated enough mana to activate Sliver Queen, but due to the misunderstanding Adam just passed turn, thinking he needed to wait to untap to have enough mana. Since it wasn't a rules error and was just a gameplay mistake we will be leaving it as is, but we wanted to leave this note explaining the issue.

I think these would be the perfect play mat for pre commandfests. I think when you are in the middle of a game and they tell you that you have to move tables this would be perfect for that but now with commandfests and dedicated play spaces they are a little late to the party. Still would be good for when you wont be able to play a full game and can keep your board state clear and organized as you move.

As an avid sliver player, Adam should have won as soon as that mana echos hit field, at least he should have created infinite slivers due to the way cascade works mana echos would hit field first, then the first sliver, generating 2 colorless mana, which should have been put into the queen, then infinite slivers, probably would have been game the next turn Edit: I loved the game BTW, I was just a bit salty about that massive misplay lol

I've seen that before. People are very afraid of an unblockable Yargle, probably because of how easily it can go from manageable to lethal (a single Tainted Strike allows Yargle to swing for exactly 10 infect damage, for example).
@HeirophantCarneus4 жыл бұрын
True enough. Still seems weird to me to hate out the deck capable of killing with commander damage...in a pod specifically about KO by commander damage. I also just have a thing against hating out any deck/strategy before it shows it's thing. Like if a deck is threatening a win, by all means, target it's pieces. But preemptively targeting a deck that's durdling just because it has dangerous win cons is shitty to me - not saying that's definitely what happened here.

When the finale was mana drained would it not give 2 mana in the next upkeep because the cmc is still 2 cause the x counts as 0, I'm not a judge just asking if I understand corre. Either way it was a great game and I like the idea of themed building games
@ArborusVitae4 жыл бұрын
Mana Drain checks CMC on the stack and thus counts X when determining the CMC. So finale with X = 4 is CMC 6.
@DarkEinherjar4 жыл бұрын
When a card has X in its mana cost, X is 0 in every zone, EXCEPT the stack. On the stack, X is the amount you set for it, and will count for anything that cares about that spell's CMC, including Mana Drain.
