I would probably walk in and want ALL of them! LOL! Cats are awesome. Most of them are so sweet and love affection. Some of them will lay it on thick. ADOPT ME!!!! TAKE ME HOME!!! LOL! I hate to see them in cages. But it's to keep them safe until they're adopted. I have to remind myself of that.

Some shelters have the cats run free in a big room with cat trees and toys. You can sit among them and choose your cat (or more likely your cat will come and choose you).

Even when shelters have the setup for free roaming cat areas, they still need to have individual cages. Any new animals should be quarantined for 14 days before they are introduced to other animals. This helps prevent diseases from spreading. Also, animals that are not fixed yet should not be kept with other animals to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Pregnant or nursing mothers should also be kept separate. Animals that are ill should be kept separate. And animals that do not get along with other animals should have their own enclosures as well. I think every shelter should try their hardest to have at least ONE free roaming cat area for animals who have gone through quarantine, are fixed, healthy and social. Even if a shelter doesn’t have separate rooms that they could designate for that purpose, they could still DIY large enclosures that could fit multiple cats and have a few of those in a larger room. They could be made out of PVC pipe and coated wire (that’s made for animal enclosures). I think a lot of shelters that struggle can actually have an easier time if they think outside the box and take ideas from others. And I say that from personal experience.

To anyone who's ever lost a dear cat and don't think you can love one again, please go to a shelter! Laid my first dear cat to rest Oct. 2008; ten days later, I took in a stray that came up on my front porch ten days later. Had that stray as a spoiled housecat ten and a half years, and she died following complications after surgery just this Spring. My heart was broken again, but I went to a shelter and before I knew it, a sweet cat was tugging at my heart. Brought her home three months ago, and we're good friends now! Please try again-another cat needs your love.

Better in the shelter than where I see their little bodies.... On the streets and road's dead or used as bait. It kills me every time I pass it. I'm a bus operator... So guess how many times I see THEM as I loop through my route

I can't believe how many kittens you have! When I wanted to adopt I couldn't find any. I guess I would have to make a trip to your state. Planned to adopt a kitty, so went to my country's adoption site. Once again, planned on adopting ONE cat. Saw this add with three kittens that needed a home immediately since the guy took them but if no one got them soon they'd have to be put on the street. Long story short, I now have three kittens
