Thank you. I am really quite amazed that you still take the time to reply to us. I've already completed one moebius scarf, I just want to make one smaller. Thank you so very much for sharing with us. This video is what inspired me to return to knitting. So I could say "it's all your fault" that I spend so much time knitting rather than chasing dust bunnies around the house. thank you again.

I just love how you explained MOEBIUS (with the strip of paper and the sentence) without dropping a stitch and never missing a beat! You make a great teacher and I thank you for this. Someone has a Moebius hat on here with awesome trim on it but they specify that they don't do patterns, just sell hats. It is Strawberry Couture's Stitch or something. I love that pattern and would like to make one of these.

Great explanation. Thank you for sharing this technique for free. I found this technique on another you tube site but did not understand the hows and whys. After making to cowls, each one ending up a bit different and wondering why the knits and purls were not working out I found your video! Now I so completely understand that I can now make a cowl with the stitch that I want and have it look like it should. I also understand now from your video how to count the rows. No one else said where to put the marker and how to count the rows. After two cowls, one without and one with beads, I know my next one will be the best. Again Thank you for your time.

I'm soooo grateful for your demo of mobius and the knitting style I hadn't tried before -- continental? You explained everything so well, even possible confusions; it looked easy and made perfect sense. When I tried, it was pretty smooth sailing. In the video which helps greatly, you put the market on the right needle but say that you are putting it on th left. I bought your book because someone knit the reversible lotus blossom hat for my daughter and she loved it but lost it. So I'm going to make another one her. The knit shop in Evanston, IL, where I bought your book (CloseKnit) directed me to the video which as I said helps greatly.

I have made a couple of these cowls but have given them to friends.. Now I need to make me one! One of my next adventures is to knit my first pair of socks.. and I think that the Coriolis sock sounds easy enough for a first attempt. I just saw it on a rerun of Knitty Gritty. I am excited to give it a try. I've all the ingredients for the attempt except for the actual pattern and the courage, but I've ordered a book that is supposed to have it so I'll get over my sock phobia!

Wow! To repeat what others have said, "Wow!" I've made mobius strips before- I think they explain infinity and eternity. And now I may have a more earthbound, practical use for it. I may even finally get to use the circular needle I once purchased and had no clue how to use. What would happen if I wanted to make a cap with this stitch? Your video was about the best I've seen, clear, easy to see and not daunting. Thank you very much. I bookmarked it.

Hi Cat, Thank you for your video. I wonder as you have knitted so many socks if you have ever tried to cast on for a Moebius using Judy's magic cast on? It works a treat and I'm just finishing a scarf using this method. I tried that before I saw this video so will try your method next. What I like about these methods is that there is no visible cast on edge. Thanks again.

This is the weirdest video I've watched, haha. I loved it. You are a wonderful teacher. Were you ever a teacher as profession? I understood everything, & I loved how you explained it all; & you even made me laugh, too. :) I started knitting when I was only 5, & I even used to sell sweaters. However, due to illness & disability, I was away from knitting for over 25 years. I just returned this year & have been re-learning everything. I'm doing OK, but I am astounded at the changes in knitting. What has been going on all this time, lol? There are so many new things. I love it, but I have to admit I'm a bit intimidated. I've never heard of Moebius knitting, but I look forward to trying it. Maybe not in 2018, as I need to learn a bit more first. But I will be saving your video for the time when I am ready for it. Thank you for such an easy-to-follow video. You made such a complex stitch seem quite easy. :)

Hope you are seeing this as I just now have the same question you have. Just learned this technique tonight and noticed after a full round where you come to the marker the stitches do indeed change as they are purled and now knit even though we are knitting from the beginning. Hope someone notices these posts and can help us understand.

I followed your video and it worked like a charm! Unfortunately, I didn't think about the moebius cowl pattern soon enough. The fabric was a seed stitch through the center. Now I have a line of knit stitch down the middle. I still love it! Could I have started the first row with a k, p instead of just k? I haven't tried this again, but I have a friend starting a moebius cowl for the first time, which brought it all back.

Lovely instructions. It's a shame there is no information regarding the number of stitches, but understandable, since there's a book by the author. The cast-on is easy, once you pick up the rhythm. One way to check oneself on the cast on is to pay attention to the first row - one stitch "wants" to be knitted in front, and the other one - in back, Thanks.
@mameymama5 жыл бұрын
Easy cast on, compared to other mobius cast ons. My pattern is a 3x3 check, but when I finished my first row (K3 P3 K3 P3, etc), the K3 looked like a pearl 3. Not sure if what I should do next, I have 2 more rows, then switch to P3 K3 P3 K3. Hmm.

This Moebius video is superb. Thankl you for the clear instructions! I have a question though... I am using your pattern in the Second Treasury book, and the yarn I am using is Malabrigo Sock weight. When casting on I notice thaat he 47 cable kind of bulges up top, making it hard to knit into any stitches... Is it because of the skinnier yarn? should I combine the sock weight with something else to make the yarn bulkier? Thanks!

Best thing to do is try it. I tried it and could not make it work. I tried a bit larger and it now works. I do believe that to make something useful you will need 40 inches or 47 inches. Something fairly long. I am using 36 inches but am doing a "nothing" project just to learn the technique. I learn a lot just from trial and error so I would recommend you try it out as a learning piece first?

Fairly new knitter although my first project was two pair of socks on 4-5 needles and now another pair on circulars. This video intrigued me so I just had to try it doing a no-pattern sample piece to see how the technique works. Took me a few starts (bear to undo) but I finally got it. Using 36 inch circulars for this test piece. Curious why first full row is purl-looking and the remainder of the rows are knit-looking when knitting form the beginning. Do you change to purl after the 1st row?
