Our mills in the southeast will not accommodate the short wood. It wiped out a hole economy for short wood haulers. Also, timber farms were managed more efficiently using short wood haulers

Yes sir you guys are in the middle of the mud! Lol I’m sure it’s very frustrating and now with main machines down makes it worse. Hope things get fixed fast. You be safe Mr I can climb wood piles. Good muddy video for sure be safe and as you say keep on rolling!

just curious if a track loader with processor head on it would work for your operation disregarding the much higher cost of the machine ofcourse

Why don't logging Companies have small chippers to chip the limbs up and use for traction in mud like that? I hauled for a chip company out of AR and they would dump chips on the mud so the trucks could get in and out when it was bad like that.

John, old buddy, old pal, you were LOONEY way before that feed wheel died BUT you can blame it ALL on those goomerish younguns. I've seen lots of folks, including my folks pull it off. Pitiful, ain't it! Prayers, BLESSINGS and LOTS of goomerish younguns to hug on. And I used to wear those Wellies myself till I started wading mud in my sock feet. Not very good.

Is there a point where you tear up more equipment playing in the mud than the wood is worth? seems to me bending up bumpers and twisting frames and who knows what just for a truck load of logs.
@clintjones11936 жыл бұрын
Surely a bit of ground work and some timber matts has to be more cost effective than all the time and fuel you guys spend dragging trucks and equipment out of mud and repairing damaged gear.

There's a guy that dose chips here in Georgia that takes and grinds chips and covers the bad spots and the road in deep enough so the trucks roll right over them plus he doesn't get in trouble with the law about dirt and mud on the road he rolls in the rain he dose not do logs just chips another crew hauls the logs

I would take the dozer and cut about a foot of mud off and lay number 8s in the loading hole if i could or fine me some sand and rock to pack it up for the trucks to run but its hard to do in the kind of mess

I do not understand why so much axle in the truck ... look at it has 6 axes ... one in the middle ... another one beyond, another in the tail of the truck ... for that much axis ... unnecessary tire expense ..when the truck maneuvers a turn as it will be ... ?? ... it gets complicated ... before the trucks with three axles were enough and they gave the same work ... they just took out the wood ... the same nonsense .. .. someone who explains what is practical ... a person who pulls it as an expert in the field
