@@C.CUMM1NGS My Luna brought me a bat one morning. I was thinking, this is a new kind of gift. What they're technically doing is, bringing us food like they would do for their babies. First they bring killed food, then queeny momma will start bringing live food to teach them how to catch the prey. So for us humans, they will bring us killed or live, but mostly killed from my experiences. I always wonder if it's because they think we don't know how to hunt for our own food, but who knows what goes on in their heads. The sweet little babies. My husband and I rescue and foster and take in the neo-nates who need bottle feedings. I feed them and clean them and teach them potty, and our other kitties teach them kitty stuff.

My cat Sassy would go”hunt” for her catnip toys at night and we’d wake in the morning to find a line of toys leading into our bedroom. I’d ask her if she did that, and she’d purr and demand cuddles in return. Then I’d redistribute the toys in various places so she could hunt them again. That’s cats showing you appreciation for feeding them, by bringing gifts to you in the night. 😻

Our cat Fran brings us gifts from our basement. Usually plumbing parts or something from our camping supplies. Heavy things this small cat brings up the steps. We keep a box in the kitchen, collect his gifts then put them away another time. When she comes up the steps she makes a deep meowing sound to announce she is coming with something. Cats are amazing.

There is a kitty YT channel that issues challenges, like, "Move your human's stuff when they're asleep and see how they react ". From the videos that were posted, most of the humans just freaked out and assumed that their house was haunted. Some even hired in an exorcism.
