As someone who knows the video context, I think your analysis is correct. The cat (Jjong) had lost her kittens 3 months ago, and after the event, she had become aggressive. I feel like Jjong has a serious chemical imbalance, but she also seems to be in control. So it could be a number of factors that are affecting her. Haru (The other grey cat) has always been there. The two have mutual respect towards each other, and Jjong would NEVER hurt him. Whenever there is a fight, he comes to interfere to protect the guardians, and Jjong will give up eventually, and this happens with zero aggression between the cats. I'd be keen on seeing your thoughts with full context, and thanks again fro keeping us entertained!

Hi, just wanted to say that I watched the original video months ago on SBS TV Animal Farm - they do a lot of behavioural assistance, rescues from individual strays to whole meat farms, veterinary assistance, some more educational videos and promote positive changes in animal legislation. They do a lot of good. This cat does get treatment, which is the point of the show. To sum it all up, months ago she'd had a difficult pregnancy which needed surgery, then she lost several kittens. The owners say that weeks later she started to attack the remaining kittens so they had them taken away for their safety. THIS is when she began attacking her owners. She'd been through a lot in quite a short time. She was prescribed medication, and (if I remember correctly) given her own safe spaces.

I believe there was full story on YT. 3 months ago she had kittens, she was great mom but two of her kittens died. Later on she started to act out at other kittens so they found them new home, then she started to be aggressive to guardians who were self blaming thinking that she might believe all pain comes from them.. they set up whole room for her and went there wearing all that space suits to clean it and do what all good guardians could do. In the middle of the story we see vet doctor who took care of the case, then how they slowly worked up to improve this cat mind set. Setting up huge cannel with vertical spaces for her, a bit covered, playing her calming sounds, adding meds to food to help her calm down and mentally balance herself. I will try to find it cause English is not my native language so o am worried i didn't explain all i saw on this whole video

Just a few comments, when they mean the staff, they mean the staff of the show that's helping the cat owners (in this case, the producer). This video clip with its commentary from tt is taken out of context. The original video is from Kritter Klub, 'Cat can't get over the loss of her kittens and becomes aggressive' Animal in crisis episode 52. Kritter Klub is a youtube channel. The team is from South Korea, they are not a rescue team, but people contact them to get help with animal rescues. (They produce and film contents). So they team up with the rescue team and local Vets, they help and rescue animals and they help guardians to understand and to support their distressed pets, animal behaviour specialists work alongside them. Some episodes are about 'before and after' events on the animals. They are a great team. They have helped and rescued a lot of animals and helped to find them their forever homes. The team has given hope to a lot of animals otherwise would have been dead and given hope to the guardians otherwise would have been in despair. They are doing an amazing job just like Jackson Galaxy. 🥰

I've never, ever seen feline aggression at that level. It is bizarre. She's not particularly threatening to the grey cat, though. It's mainly the humans. If this were a big aggressive dog with much more dangerous consequences - I'd be considering more permanent solutions. However, that cat is really pushing the envelope. I got the impression that, when she started and before the helmets, she was doing what my cat does when he wants something and I'm not quick enough. He will paw my scalp. He will paw, and paw, and yowl really loud (because he's quite elderly now and his hearing might be going) and gradually the claws start to emerge. He'll be yowling, purring, and clawing at my head. So, I wonder how things would go if I took to wearing a bike helmet around the house. Perhaps, she has identified the grey cat as one of her trauma kittens. The grey one doesn't appear to be particularly scared. It's more confusion and concern. Angela Gill, above, outlined an update where it emerged that this cat had experienced being a mother to have two kittens die and the rest be removed and re-homed. Cats have some crazily powerful maternal instincts. She might think the helmeted humans are there to do something bad to her remaining kitten (the grey cat that isn't one of her kittens) and, in that case, what a demonstration of cat maternal instincts. I also think that feline genetics might play a part. Neither of those two are moggies, I think. They are pedigrees of some exotic variety. Does she have a concentration of something rather wild in her? God only knows what's in mine as he was a rescued feral. I do believe he's got a bit of Bengal in him, though, and this might be part of the reason why is is so yowly. I hope they have gotten her all corrected, now.

He was fine until about six months after adoption he turned into a fur ball from hell - pretty similar to the one in the video. The first thing I did was take him to the vet. Turned out the medication wasn't having an effect and they upped the dose. Back to the fluffy purr ball from heaven within a week. A very good analysis of the situation with this particular cat shown in the viral video. Our Bengal cat just turned 14 & he seems to be in good health & very well cared for overall. He suddenly overnight started howling, then racing around our home late at night, while going to the bathroom on the floors where he has always used his box neatly before this happened. He suddenly had runny stools & was puking as well, so we immediately took him to our Vet & had numerous test & blood work done on him. It ended up being a very imbalanced Thyroid problem to where he has had anxiety mostly at night, confusion, panic moments & hasn't been using his box. So our Vet gave us a compound cream to rub in his ears to get his Thyroid under control. Little Vinnie has been eating better now, mostly using his box & not racing around confused late at night as much evenings now. We also bought & set up more night lights around our home so he won't be as disoriented late at night & can feel more comfortable within his environment, a big positive!

That is lovely. I'm very intrigued by this cream you speak of, also. In the UK (maybe it's just where I am and what is available) medicating is extremely invasive. I had the thyroid cream that you put on the ear for my cat who was diagnosed with a thyroid problem. It did not work well for him. I learned that you had to wash the ear (just the fleshy underside of the ear, not in the ear) so the next dose absorbs. Probably much due to my user error. I adopted him at 9 years. He would bite me if I came home and didn't go directly to the kitchen. The previous people said "always hungry". They didn't take him to the vet as they didn't think he was sick. Turned out he had thyroid disease which made him hungrier and dental issues which were unrelated to cleaning or not cleaning teeth (most teeth were eventually removed by a vet trained in dentistry). I had him about 4 years until a final sudden illness that wasn't treatable. I always said he was a great cat when he didn't bite. I really liked him. I bet not all cats with thyroid issues bite, so don't get scared off.

Once she even got me right below my eye because I shifted my position slightly while she was on my chest. Took us a while to figure out that she was fine in the warmer months. That apartment had one monitor heater in a back room, and it didn’t heat the whole place. Gothy Girl has super short hair, and hardly any winter coat. @batintheattic7293 Жыл бұрын
Best of luck. I hope you get some sort of program up and running. The thing is - any decent vet would know that by not controlling the breeding of your local ferals that local veterinary services are heading for an exponential increase in feral cat care. You need to find the most reasonable local vet, who is prepared to work with you and truly loves animals, and then set up some sort of local funding project. I don't know how big you feel your neighbourhood is - it might be easier if it is a small one. That way you can have some sort of direct communication, about the situation, with your neighbours and rope in their assistance. Source your trained vet, first, I think. There has to be one that's happy to drop their charges for a mass program of neutering. Then start canvassing the neighbours for their willingness to chip in. Maybe, set up some charitable collection jars in the local shops so that people, who may have just come in from seeing loads of feral cats, will see the collection box for the local TNR fund and pop their donations in.

Possibly the smartest thing I've ever heard on the internet (or, for that matter, in real life)--an expert acknowledging that they don't know everything and that they will seek assistance as needed. It is an attitude like this that makes people listen to you and trust your advice.

It takes so much work to keep our little friends happy and healthy. I know I try to be in tune with Ichabod and thankfully that has helped a bunch in catching things early (I know now what tends to stress him out and what tends to help ease that stress). Cats are so quiet about their feelings, I appreciate you educating people and letting them know that sometimes you do have to look a little closer.

There's always a reason. Like you said, vetting is the first step. And if the grey cat is playing referee it's going to cause issues between the cats. It's going to cause damage to a relationship between them (if there was one). And the helmets would be alarming. Cats are very preceptive, if I even wear a scented lotion or perfume one of my cats will try to lick it off because he knows my scent. Cats will pick up on changes in the house, even medical or psychological changes in humans or maybe a change in the cat itself that it can't tell you about (like illness or pain). I remember when I first became a mom someone told me that if my baby wouldn't stop crying go through the list, diaper change, feeding, change the temp/clothing/etc, check fingers and toes for a hair, etc. If none of that works you call a doctor. Its the same with cats, try the normal stuff and if that doesn't work call the vet. There is always a reason, it's just a matter of finding the cause and then a solution will present itself.

I have learned a lot of what I know from you. Animal cat dog cow or human have reasons for their actions. Yes even cows just not as many. As you would do with anyone you love and care about find out what is wrong. You don't know. That's OK!! There are amazing Vets out there. Give them a call and ask them it could be as simple as that. Thank you again! ❤❤❤

Sensible. If a physically or emotionally stressed cat goes through environmental changes it can end in disaster. My cat compromised with me she keeps her food & her shelves in the exact same spot so I can rearrange couches & chairs. Clearly something is going on & I doubt the helmets are helping other than for protection. Kitty can’t see their face so it’s almost like where did my person go.

That's why I love you so much you try to help others understand cats a little bit better, I have a cat named nala and we got her when she was still a kitten from our ex roommates, they never took care of her and when we started living there I made sure she at least had water. When they finally left they wanted to take her, but I convinced them to let me keep her. Omg she was and still kind of is, a firecracker haha at one point I thought we were gonna have to call you or something because she was very mean, but I told my fiance stick with it because that's probably just her personality, well she definitely grew out of her crazy stage a bit and is now more calm, sometimes you just have to be patient and look for sings of stress and take care of your babies

My cat was an extremely aggressive Tabby who was feral, is half blind, is completely deaf, and has hyperthyroid. That last one causes high anxiety, and she not only would get aggressive seeing another cat outside, but would also scream and hiss if she smelled another cat on me. She was already ~13 when we got her, though, and they were considering putting her down because she nearly killed another cat and was not going to be chosen for a home. They actually gave her to us for free, though my mother "donated" their asking price anyway. Well, I worked hard on her diet, got her on the proper meds, worked on the home situation (she liked being locked in a single room where she could feel secure away from anyone, with all her needs taken care of daily), and over the span of two years, got her used to my company... Now she's 16+ and sleeping cuddled up next to me in bed, purring. She still needs to be isolated from contact with other animals and humans, but she has mellowed out now and is a big lover with me. She hasn't hissed in several months. I'm a proud mommy!

I got my cat from an animal shelter. Frankly, for the first year or so he was horrible 😢 He was extremely jumpy, would bite and scratch, and sometimes he would lie in wait and attack us randomly. Luckily, I grew up with cats, and “reading” them comes naturally to me. I kept showering him with love, trying to convince him he could trust me. But I have to admit that sometimes I did like grandma in this film and had a good cry over him. He was 12 weeks old when we got him. About a year after, we got our second cat, who was his exact opposite. However, when angry cat started biting the new cat, he just bit him back. You could almost see it in angry cat’s face when realisation hit: Being bitten hurts! So gradually he stopped doing it. He is now three in September, and he is the most loving cat ❤ New cat and I broke him down with love 😊

We have two females. A tabby cat named Gigi, and a black and white Tuxedo cat named Truffles. Their personalities are completely opposite. Gigi is more of a "look at me but don't touch me" kind of cat, and Truffles is very snuggly and always wants to be with her humans. She sleeps with us in our bed every night. Gigi doesn't like loud noises or quick movements... So she basically adopted my father in law as her human, because he is older and moves at a slow pace. He's more her speed and temperament. She sleeps in his bed with him. It's funny and cute because my husband and father in law didn't like cats at all. They never had cats. We had a German Shepherd that lived to be 14 years old. Sadly she had to get put out of her misery at the Vet's office last year. We adopted Gigi our Tabby Cat about a month before our German Shepherd had to be put to sleep. Gigi noticed how sad my father in law was about losing his dog, so she approached him and started scent soaking on him, marking ownership, and socializing with him exclusively. Then around Thanksgiving we adopted Truffles our Tuxedo cat and she was a kitten when we got her. She's fully grown now. She lays on my husband on the couch for hours if you let her. She's very sweet and affectionate with us. She's a bit food obsessed, while Gigi picks here and there and leaves half of her food once she's full. It's funny and cute because I converted two men who were dog lovers into cat lovers. My husband is a great cat dad. He buys them the best food and the most expensive litter, and toys and treats. He thought cats were sketchy and not affectionate. All it takes is the right cat to turn someone indifferent to cats into a cat lover.

The original video was on a channel called Kritter Klub if I remember correctly. Cats just always confused me but I loved them and just wanted to pet them! Watching "My Cat From Hell" really changed my perspective on cats for the better. You took away a lot of the confusion and now I really enjoy cats for their own unique natures and personalities. So thank you for all the work you do! I have a five year old cat re-named Sparkles. He was a literal bitey cat 4 years ago. He was given to me by a woman who was afraid he would hurt her baby when it arrived. I had bruises and bites all up and down the back of my legs for 2 years. We used substitution training, using his favorite stuffed animal. When he learned we would listen to him, and not punish him with water, a mop, or a broom, he stopped biting. He is a very lovey cat now. Whenever he tries to bite a little again, we tell him No bite! and give him his toy to take the frustration out on.

Cats are very sensitive to their owners emotions, and that absolutely has an impact on the cat and how the cat acts. When I was a teenager, I had depression, it was bad. One day I couldn't take it anymore, I was literally sitting on the floor in tears. My cat (a Maine Coon Mix) came over and laid on my lap. He never ever did that until that day, at that moment. To be honest, that moment cemented our kinship completely. I really miss him. But my point is, cats know about changes in their owners moods, emotions, etc. And to be honest, in my experience most animals have some kind of awareness or sensitivity like that.

@@jazmyngrant6936 I'm so sorry, I know you are hurting. It's heartbreaking to know your beloved cat is slipping away, but knowing how much it will confuse and cause emotional pain for his bonded "brother" is sad because we can't explain loss to them. I went through this about 6 years ago, with Puff(m) and Smidgen(f). They were almost a year apart and not related but they loved each other. Both had hyperthyroidism. Puff was the older one and my son's beloved kitty for 17 years since he was a child. I got up one morning to see my 24 year old, 6'2" son sobbing his heart out, holding Puff, and about 2 weeks later, Smidgen left us. I really believe she died of a broken heart. She wouldn't eat. I wish I had some good advice. I'm crying now even though it was 6 years ago. You know they love you, and I know you will comfort your cat the best you can. Please take care of yourself, too. I hope you have caring friends and family who understand how much you love your feline family. I didn't, and I'm still hurting, but I know I gave them the best life I could. You are giving your cats the best life they could have had, and I believe cats sense our love for them. 2.5 years ago a beautiful little tuxedo cat showed up on my porch and adopted ME. Weird because I live far out in the boonies in a place where there aren't stray animals (predators here are large and vicious). He was healthy, clean, and didn't look feral. Within 2 weeks he was sleeping next to me and being the sweetest, cuddliest kitty. The really weird thing is he looks like a doppelganger of my beloved cat I had 18 years, who died 23 years ago, a week after my mother passed.
