Thank you for this Doc! Most of my kitties are having flu on and off. They have taken the meds with antibiotic (changed to higher type since it kept occurring) and usually the flu will come back after a few days they completed the meds course. How to know if it’s a flu or it’s a sinusitis ? I also have Vetri Scrience L-Lysine, but the more I gave them , they turn out having diarrhea though.. what a headache . :((

Decrease concentration in each dose of L-lysine. Also increase time between doses to 4X/ day. Cats eat small amounts through out the day so give a tiny dose per serving. It'll be absorbed into their system slowly & much easier on digestion. Continue 12 weeks, it'll weaken the virus & kitties will become healthier. Many supplements cause issues when dose is too strong. Hope that helps, Blessings!

Thanks for your informative videos, I'm always happy to see your uploads, although I have no cats. My 12 year old bulldog is losing patches (round ones) on his back. I've had two vet visits for this so far. Thought he was infested by fleas or attacked by fire ants since they appear crusty, possibly staph which he had a round of antibiotics. Thought condition was improving but it seems worse. Have another vet appointment, but losing confidence in traditional approaches. Hi my cat has now had cat flu for almost 6 weeks, on checking he has now got a heart murmer grade 3 and bad teeth.. Will he be OK under anaesthetic to have them removed? Should I wait until he stops sneezing and being stuffy as he can't breath out of his nose properly. I've tried the steam and olbus oil, I've been told to let it run its course, he gets it every year and unable to have the vaccine the vet said, I feel he needs a little help to fight it and I'm not sure I want to risk the op for his teeth until hes well but he isn't getting better 6 weeks on, he is eating and drinking (actually more than normal so has a popped belly now) what should I do? Any help would be really really appreciated right now as I don't know anymore what to do and I'm not sleeping watching over him all night because his nose is blocked and I'm not sure if he now as a URI too, the vet doesn't want him there with cat flu and the covid has left the surgery and veterinarians halfed as they have to limit the amount of people working together in one day, they take our pets and check them over inside then bring them back out so we can't really explain things properly or them to us, all I know is they want to do the op Tuesday if he's well but don't want him at the surgery if he has cat flu but he does need help I feel with antibiotics or something to unblock his nose and help him breath, I don't want his heart to get any worse. Going to buy echinacea now! One of my cats tested positive when I took him in as a stray & even though he’s vaccinated, it reoccurs every now & then. Lately his eyes have been an issue, & now coughing & runny nose again too. Ok, so I got the little remedies nasal spray, and the lysine. I sprayed the nasal spray up her nose wiped the drip then applied the llysin spray. Then I took the cat food (which was there for 2 days, and she did not even look at it) but she ran to the tuna (only ate a little but better than before) I’ll do this 3 times a day for a week. Thanks. It’s the next morning and her nose physically looks unstuffed (nothing nasty coming out) and she came out of her hiding spot, and is purring really loud again.

Are any of these interventions good for chronic rhinitis in a cat ? My son adopted a stray cat who had labored breathing, respiratory symptoms. Melbourne, florida. Bennie was treated with antibiotics for a while, but never totally resolved. When my son went to Cornell university there was a biopsy done for Bennie at Cornell which revealed chronic rhinitis. He has to have his nose cleaned or it plugs up. Any natural remedies?

@@caffeinated_disaster3481 Cats do not "like" garlic as a tasty snack. They will run from it if you offer it in any form. Just like children do with medicines. I sometimes sprinkle garlic powder in my cats fur, halfway down his back, an easy place to lick it off. My dog also. No problems ever. Of course you must realise only a little at a time. Cat...about a small pinch a day as long as the. "infection" lasts. Dog...proper pinch (large dog). For a maximum of 7 days. Then a break of 7 days. Then another few days if still suffering. I also use Brewers Yeast from my health store in exactly the same way.

Thank you! - I have 3 cats (1 is 6 years old, 2 are 4 years old) very healthy since I had them when they were kitten, never had to go to the vet except for vaccinating. 2 weeks ago I adopted a cat which I found from a box in the street. I took him to the vet right after that, the vet said he had no health problem, and at that time he seemed ok. But when I took him home for 2 days, he started to sneeze a lot with runny nose and eyes. I called the vet, he gave the cat the treatment injections for 3 days and the cats was ok for 3 days. And then he started to sneeze with runny nose again, but this time his eyes are ok. He still very active, still eating and drinking. Then, my 6 years old cat started to have some dry heaving with a lil bit of drool or sometimes with nothing. After she had it for 3 days, 1 of my 4 yrs old cat had the same dry heaving, but no drool was found. Then 2 days ago, the other 4 yrs old cat had dry heaving too. Now, my 6 years old cat is having the cat flu (I guess). She has runny eyes and nose, sneezes a lot, drooling and legarthy but luckily she still eat a lil. And my two 4 yrs old cats still have dry heaving. They still eat and drink, but they are less active than usual, just walk slowly in the house and lie down. So can you give me any advice or treatment for the cats have dry heaving? And do you think this is the symptom of cat flu too? I bought the L-Lysine for all of them, and give my 6 years old cat and the adopted one the steam inhalation every night. Is there anything better that I can do? I know this video is old but my cat isn't eating a whole bunch. She's drinking water though. I haven't noticed much sneezing (if any at all) but she seems to be hiding out under the bathroom sink. She's hid under there before a few times but it's not really her usual spot (usually she's on the table next to the computer or the table next to the front door). She isn't moving very much but at the same time she's generally not an active cat (no matter how much we've tried to get her active in the last 7 years we've had her) so it's hard to tell if she's more lethargic than normal. I did notice that she got up for the litter box earlier today after we scooped and cleaned. But other than that she's just been hanging out in the bathroom. We are in a position where we can't really afford any of the vets we were able to call today so we're really at a loss for what to do. :(

Hi, 3 of the free cats I’m looking after have the calicivirus. Some have it bad (lost teeth, swollen tongue, gingivitis etc) and the vet told me they will all have it eventually (they eat in the same plate outside) and one day or another, they’ll die from it. Even if I don’t live with those cats, I care deeply for them and I don’t want them to die! When I take them to the vet, they usually pull some teeth out and then, the cats can’t no longer eat 😔 Are these remedies enough for the calicivirus? When they have the flu, I give them grapefruit seed glycerin extract and it does the trick. I have used homeopathy too but it’s very expensive for a cat (and I have 10 to care for). Thank you for your precious help. (Sorry for my English, I’m French 😬)

I don't believe that this is what rabies does - cold symptoms... I rescued a cat 2 weeks ago. I don't want to get into the details, there are too many. All I'll say is as a result of having this stray I learned about feline herpes vitas. Try reading up on that on the internet. there's a Ton of stuff about it (I gained more knowledge about it online than the TWO VETS I BROUGHT This very friendly "feral" TO. Please read!!! First off, thank you so much for your videos. I can see they help many ppl. So, thank you. I also need your help. My cat is a Russian blue and tabby mix. He started with a cold the day after getting fixed. Since then he started having a bloody nose for 5 days straight now. His gums are normal, but he did eat cooked turkey bone. P.s. For the past two days I have been using little noses remedy to help his nose, but he is still sneezing blood. His eyes look glazed but no more mucus is coming out of them. Aside from this he still acts normal aside from being way more tired then he used to be and sleeps more as well. He had a sever cold (which one other car had as well) for about 4 days and seemed like he was getting better, until the day after Thanksgiving, which is when he ate the turkey bone. I have no idea how much he ate, nor do I know if it’s the cause, but two days later he was sneezing blood.

My cat has stuffy nose because I was putting powder in his box for deodorant. And he isnt used to litter boxes because he was a outdoor cat until I got him fixed now he spends most of his time on my back porch which is screened in. I am doing some saline for his stuffiness it helps him sneeze it out which is white, the same color of the powder. But if its infection is what I'm looking for to give him. I did give him 1 tsp yogurt, and I've always given my cats yogurt for fever or belly aches. He likes strawberry/banana. Hes pretty heavy so getting him in a carrier and to the vet I cant pick him up.

Do cats like yogurt? My old kitty needs some probiotic support but I figured she would turn her nose up at yogurt. Unless I put a dash of whipped cream on top.. ;)

Hi - I could not find your supplements for purchase online... and I did not see them on your website either. My one cat has a terrible cold/flu. Ive been using a baby nasal squeezy to remove excess goop from her nose. She was always a sleeper so hard to tell if if she is lethargic. However, she will get up and run around and play with my other cat. When I first rescued her, she was a sneezer. I didn't think much of it until she got her first cold. I was given a very expensive antibiotic but it did work and afterwards she stopped even her normal sneezing. I am DEFINITELY going to start her on lysine right away. I will try to add garlic to some tuna and see how she does. She is drinking (ugh - from the toilet!!!! - why do they DO that ????) I have tried giving her a fountain and even now I am trying alkaline mineral water....and I still catch her at toilet if I forget to put the lid down... anywho...I am unable to get to the vet right away (I am taking infusions) so I wanted to see what else I could try for now besides garlic and lysine. I'm getting it now. My 3 mop old kitten is coughing and snezzing 3 weeks now. took to vet - they found "nothing" so called it herpes and they say 90% of cats have it; like common cold. So, after givning them stool sample and them not finding anything wrong came home and he had worms. Treated worms with "Dox..." and worms gone - they said and "promised" his cough would go away. Nope - still has it really bad - although no more green goopies in eyes after I gave him Terramycin. Anyway "Litle Wee" still has "cold" symptoms just spent $90 to get: AmoxiClav & Famciclovir.
