Cat missing for 11 YEARS reunited with owners!

A cat named Tiger has been reunited with his family after being missing for 11 years.
The cat was found by Carol O'Connell, an animal shelter worker. She started noticing a shy cat near her house. It took her 3 years to gain the cat's trust, but she managed to approach and pet him. The way he responded to her petting him made Carol think that this cat had definitely had a home at some point in his life. She acted on her hunch and took a scanner home from work.
On the microchip, she found information about the cat's owners - John and Maggie Welz. he contacted them and the family was in shock, because the Tiger had been missing for 11 years!
The family had long given up hope, so when they got the call that their cat had been found, they couldn't believe it.

Good thought and so true. Unfortunately, I live in a town with a LOT of strays, feral cats, etc. Outdoor cats have a much riskier life. Spay/Neuter, and MICROCHIP, it saves lives and keeps pets/humans together. So happy for Tiger and his family. 😊😊💕💕

It's lovely 'Tiger', got reunited with his owner. I wish I could be reunited with my Darling, pale, tortoiseshell cat, 'Sasha?'. She got out of my house, one night & vanished. She & my other 2 cats, were indoor cats. This was 7 years ago. She was 4 years old, when she vanished. I put ads up & contacted vets & my nearest neighbours, with pets. They also had pets, missing. It had become an unsafe town for pets. She was desexed & microchipped, too ! I waited a few months. Then I left & moved to another town. I had given my landlord, my new address. I never heard anything more. I pray, every night, that I'll get a miracle, she'll be found & I can go & pick her up. Please God, give me a miracle. Amen. 😢🙏♥️🤞😸

Got my indoor only cat back after 2 years due to being microchipped. Someone was feeding him and took him for help bcuz he had a broken hip from being hit by a car. I made sure i thanked her for helping him.

I am totally smitten with this story! It’s just so fantastic that he was microchipped , cared for by another ‘owner’ , found by a shelter worker who took the time to familiarise with tiger, and that she checked him for a microchip! Microchips are great.... I had a cat returned to me after 3 years. I didn't think I'd ever see her again, now she lives in my backyard in a special little place that she just loves, she doesn't ever want to come in but I keep her warm and fed and she's just an old lady now but she has a great retirement.

I picked up a lost beautiful black cat at the shops, he took to us like duck to water, got on with our other cats. Had checked for microchip, and not found. He cried to be let out, which we did, and came back with a note to keep the cat in our yard or it will be death row. These people trapped the cat, took it to RSPCA who checked for the microchip, and found he was missing four four years. the distance from his home was almost 30kms. How I found out is that I called the RSPCA. Happy to he went back to his forever home after all those years, but disappointed with the local animal shelter for not being able to scan this poor lost cat properly.

Cats usually dont stray too far from their original home. I'm not surprised cat was nearby. Poor baby was lost for 11 years though, wow what a survivor of the streets! I lost my cat a couple of times but always found him next door or on the same block. Now I have him microchipped so honestly, it is a little piece of mind.

At the animal shelter where I've gotten my cats from they give you a vet check and the animal is spayed or neutered and they automatically get a microchip. That is so amazing being gone for 11 years. What a heartwarming story😊❤

This happened because of a rescue worker was in the picture, else like the last 11 years, folks would simply keep feeding him(if he’s that fortunate) I find that’s what the average person will do, they just feed the animal, maybe they like it around, but it’s so not good for the cat, if it’s not part of a colony. I rescued a cat in my neighborhood in similar situation, but the neighbors were only feeding it for 3 months! I’m a rescue worker so I quickly went about finding it’s owner. They were happily reunited!
