Cat's Reaction to Frozen Water !!

Our cat PJ always puts his paw in the water while he is drinking; but in the winter, this turns into a problem because the water frequently gets frozen! And this is his funny reaction to frozen water!

Just love PJ. His story is so heartwarming...from the time you found him and treated his eyes until the time he finally found a friend in Pamuk. He had quite a struggle. My 15 year-old cat died just last week. She was an inside cat, but I would lob soft snowballs at the window from outside, and she would jump for them just as PJ does. It was great fun for both of us. Happy memories.

I was just about to crash out when your video popped up.....ending the day on* a high note! PJ has grown so much! I think a lot of cat quirks around water bowls is due to their being a bit weirded out by reflections and the inability to gauge exactly where the surface is. One of my gang used to sit watching the shimmering surface of the water in a dark grey china fruit bowl for ages, as though she was divining the future. When I bought them an even bigger, cream-coloured bowl, all of the reflections disappeared and the water is easily distinguished from its container, and they drink much more serenely now (though it’s far less fascinating to observe! ) Thanks for a lovely visit to your snowy garden 😽🙏🏼💕🐾

My mom had a silver bowl for her little dog. Lexi would leap forward to take two or three laps of water then step back. (Like she was scared of it) She had no problem eating out of it's mate though only the water. Told mom she's scared of her own reflection 😔

I get so much enjoyment from watching Pjr fly through the air. He certaiy does love the snow. It would be a hoot seeing Indy and Pjr sail in their own sky loops. I love the snow. @@gaylaroof612 yea, a fellow tree hugger! I always liked palm trees, they represented vacations, beautiful tropics etc. Im from sw cook county in IL. I never planted palms here (very expensive) and our area has zillions of tall paper pines. Not the beautiful full Evergreens we know. My son is in Northern GA, his back yard and whole area is like an arboretum. I pray I can move up there before I pass onto Gods forest preserve I'm 80 and advise youngins' " Be careful what you wish for" go out and find a real tree and hug it . Oh, and I also miss the beauty and smell of fall!! And snow!!

Reminds me of my dog Scout. She would take the ice out of the dish and carry it around the yard before lying down and chewing it up. My cat Skillet liked to pull his water dish around with his paw. Seeing a cat run around in the snow is a first! Catching a snow ball justifies a world tour!

Funny PJ is adorable but he’s no competition for the wundercat Indy. Indy’s long lean build will have him starring in goal for a long time while PJ has youthful energy but is stockier with shorter legs. Still, I was impressed by how many he caught, given how little practice he’s had 😻

PJ is adorable. I loved his confused reaction to the ice. I had a cat that also preferred to lick water off of his paw rather than drink from the bowl. He was an indoor cat though, so he never encountered this problem!
