Story 1: Wow... i have several questions here. How on earth did this woman and the other kennel lead not get fired long before all of this? How did the manager not notice how bad the conditions of the kennel were? How did the manager not notice clients werent coming to the kennel and going to her place? How was she not sued for all that went down here? If she is that negligent towards animals, then what is she like towards her children? Good grief! Hopefully the OP's cat is doing better after that bad week away and hopefuly that womans misfortunes got worse. Story 2: OP's MIL tried to do the right thing here and just chewed out for no reason here... so yeah, i wouldve given it to customer service, report it as lost-and-found and given them the heads up that that Karen was an old bag. MIL did nothing wrong here. Story 3: Well done, OP! The siblings got exactly what they deserved here for demaning expensive just because they have money or are well-off. Getting the kids the most messy and annoying gifts is exactly what i would've done too.... along with telling the parents to buzz off. Story 4: Just because you are a doctor or have a doctorate does not mean that you are better than someone and doesnt give you the right to be a jerk to others, especially over an apron. Grow up, dude, seriously... and good on the OP for leaving a pickle spear in his coat. Story 5: Ohh no, thats pretty harsh. Nothing else to say.

The cat story. Yeah turning a blind eye is nit the best thing for the other pets abd a shame that OP'S eyes were opened when it happened to their cat. But still. Someone that horrible shouldnt be looking after pets. I now question if she has kids. How the hell is she taking care of them.

When I was a teenager and Target still had a game trying area in the video game section and there was a family who actually asked me about Video Games because they were looking for a game for a kid that was turning 12. The game they wanted to get the kid was Rated M and I told them that M meant it was more aimed at teenagers 18 and up. I suggested that the family get a game that was rated E or T that has only Comic Mischief for the kid.

First Story: Serves her right. I would do the same if she would treat my cat like that, because she shouldn’t even be allowed to take care of a pet rock. What ticks me off though is that OP knew she didn’t do her job properly but thought “not my problem” until his cat had to suffer. Last story: if I heard correctly it was in the summer, so it’s possible that when the power went the neighbour might have a heat stroke & passed because of it. It’s so sad that nobody noticed earlier

I can tell you that dead bodies in hot weather don't need a lot of time before the breakdown of tissues. It is indeed a ghastly, stick in your nose, throat and stays on clothing, carpets, you name it, it is permanent These places where bodies are found HAVE to be torn down to the roots. If it seeps into floor boards, they have to be ripped out and replaced. I lived in an apt. where those exact thing happened. The poor man was a shut-in, had no visitors, or family ever stop by. So he o.d. on Gravel, the anti nausea med and passed away. I was in the middle of a terribly vicious heatwave too. So it started to be noticeable with in a day or two and kept getting worse. His apartment faced south-west and got direct sun all day long. He had no a/c to cool things down. He had closed all his windows, died and started to rot quickly. It is a smell that once you've experienced it, you NEVER, EVER forget. I felt so sorry for him, what a lonely and horrid way to die. Nobody to call or comfort or even check in on him. Sad way to pass... May his soul rest in peace.

I’m confused as to why op’s cat is missing the litter box. Does it have a special need the caretaker should have known about? A 12 lbs cat is not big at all if anything it’s average small size. Op said the litter was changed but feces and urine was on everything

kittens are tiny so you can see the problem with a little smaller adult cat trying to use a litter box a little bigger then a kitten

I'm wondering if with the urine, it could be arthritis or something. I'm only guessing though since that's why mine usually misses with urine and feces despite having a fairly large litter box.
