Four years later and this is the best tutorial I have ever seen on KZbin. Classic!

This beautiful song takes me back to my childhood in the school hall assembly. The Rev would come in with an acoustic guitar and sing it every monday morning. Classic Cat Stevens. As usual your attention to detail is second to none. Great break down and tutorial from you. Thank's for the memory and song.

Greetings...thank you so much for the easy to follow lessons...I started playing guitar in the mid 70’s as a teenager... I stopped playing for many many years to devout my time to my 5 kiddie... now they are all over the age of 30 ...I got out the old Yamaha 360 dusted it off( original 35 year old strings...lol, tuned it up to the best of my tone deaf ability...and was surprised I remembered how to play lots of major and minor chords ( the easy one for easy Rock n Roll and Folky type music) I remembered how to play “ I WAS ONLY JOKING by Rod Stewart and Ballad of Dwight Fry ( simple style..not souls riffs)... I am now learning all the songs from your site...YOU ROCK...AGAIN THANK YOU FOR BRINGING GUITAR PLAYING BACK TO ME!

Thanks so much for this. You are really a terrific guitar teacher, and the fact that you have a great voice helps tie the whole thing together. Many of the online teachers get so far down into the weeds that it just takes too long to watch them; and they never show you how it all sounds together. But the fact that you sing it all the way through and play it in the beginning, and then break it down section by section is just the perfect way of showing the student how to do it. I don't think I've ever had so much fun running through an online lesson. I wish I had nothing more to do in life but just go through your entire catalogue of lessons (which I see is very extensive!). Live long and prosper!

"Morning Has Broken" is a Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and was inspired by the village of Alfriston in East Sussex, then set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune, "Bunessan" It is often sung in children's services and in funeral services. The song became identified with Stevens due to the popularity of his recording. Writing credit for "Morning Has Broken" has occasionally been erroneously attributed to Cat Stevens.

I will have to learn the song in phonetics to begin with and I will take inspiration from your tutorial to play it. Thank you so much for sharing. You have a very beautiful voice and this recovery is excellent. cordially
