This is how my late husband was with his cat lol. His silly house panther was 100000% his baby. Now the cat is my baby. We don't have the exact same bond, but we got much closer having lost the most important man in both our lives. Currently have the clingy fuzzball curled up next to me. The complete trust and love of a small animal is a priceless gift ❤️

I can't help but imagine the first moments of Dave's life from his little newborn perspective, animated like a Pixar/Disney movie...what a dramatic move. Your first moments of life you're suddenly in danger, when a hand bigger than your whole body scoops you away from certain death, holds you close, and returns you to your mother... I cant imagine being there for their birth is required, but I cant imagine getting this compatibility by just picking cats at random.

I'd never seen such a strong preference before, but last year my son's first serious girlfriend stole the heart of our big foster-daddy cat! When she slept over with him, Nehemiah kitty started complaining loudly whenever he couldn't be in her lap, and when they broke up and she wasn't here any more he mourned for months. Our kitty LOVED that girl and lets us know how much we don't measure up!

My cat Shiro was my Dad's cat, after he passed I moved in with my partner and soon enough, Shiro chose my boyfriend! He still comes to me for love and attention (whenever I brush my hair he demands I brush him too) but usually he's begging my boyfriend for love! It's so sweet seeing the two of them together! Even my cat, Kai, likes to sit with him while he reads or games, and get a few head rubs.

Something very similar happened where I was 13 and my brother's cat gave birth to 6 kittens. However, one of the kittens was hidden underneath the placenta and almost suffocated so I forced the mother cat to eat the placenta and saved the kitten's life, she was inseparable from me ever since until the day she died 7 years ago. My mom called her Mew from Pokemon because she was this pink white little thing, as she grew she gained siamese and tabby markings. She was a unique looking cat. I remember mom telling me she would wait at the door for me for 2 days crying for me after I went on a trip. It was heartbreaking when she died, but she's in my heart. Here's a learning experience for everyone. If you rescue a newborn kitten, they will love you for the rest of their life. Cats have a special attachment to the person who saved their life when they are newborn.

We adopted a young cat from a shelter and i've put in countless hours to get him out of his shell, now he's all over me, always. I cant do a step without him following me, rushing towards me to greet me everyday. My mother lives downstairs where he often is aswell, but she cant touch him much, he accepts her as a treaty source :D My sister, who lives in the same town, visited him a few times, not too often though, and had better interactions with him than my mother had, kinda felt sorry for her. My sister goes along with anymals very well, but all my friends call me the cat whisperer because i could even cuddle with the stranger shy cats that didnt like to get touched. I love him to death even though sometimes his attraction gets a little overbearing ^^

Just lost my orange and white boy a few weeks ago. Similar start - his mom gave birth under my friend’s front porch and I was the first person to ever hold him when he was 5 weeks old. After that, we were basically inseparable for the next 11 years (which went by way, way too fast). Enjoy every minute!

I had a similar relationship with my best friend's dog. He was a Miniature Poodle and we Bonded in December of 2006. My best friend's dad passed away in The Philippines and my friend was unable to travel so Istayed at her place.. The dog, named Soochie, was 4 months old at the time and we were thick as thieves. Whenever she got 9ff the phone with me, knowing I was coming she would tell Soochie and he would run down the hallway and sit on the top stair , waiting for me. Her mom always answered the door and I would slyly climb the stairs and say "who dat" and he would twirl for joy. Whenever I watched TV there he cuddled up to me, rest his head on my stomach and looked up at me with such love in his eyes. He passed away in 2019, just 4 months after my best friend's mother. I was sad when her mom passed, but I cried like crazy when Soochie passed.
