Adopt a second cat. They are so much happier with a companion. I adopted my first Cat Olly in December 2022. He was found with a really badly broken back left leg so we were asked to keep him indoors to stop him injuring it again. We adopted Rocket a little 3 legged girl. Sadly she lost her back right leg in an accident and it wasn’t able to be saved. We walk them both outdoors on their harnesses which they love. Olly is now 21 months old and Rocket is 18 months old. They are so happy together ❤ from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

By FAR the best toy for a cat is another cat, so I'd seriously consider getting a second one, usually younger females are a safe bet but consider this with other people in real life

HAHA! Yes, I remember a cat we had growing up that considered a toy stuffed tiger as a litermate. He did similar wrestling, the "rabbit punches", etc. But this takes it to a whole new level! As always, The Dodo has fascinating individual animals stories that demonstrate the love and cooperation that the animal kingdom has. The human "kingdom" could learn a lot from these lessons....if only we would pay attention closely with some humility.

My Goodness - when I mentioned the ‘Mom’ - I meant the ‘Human Mom(s)’ - saying how Special these Human Moms were, knowing little details about their Furry little babies..! I never meant to exclude God or Jesus or Any or All the Angels in Heaven..! Now the Reality is - there are Many who hold their dear pets as Family Members and I personally don’t find anything wrong with that.! There are others who’d rather have Dogs (for example) as Working Animals - to each is own but to Attack someone cause they Praise an Human Being for being sensitive about her Kitty/Kitties seems quite extreme and mean spirited..?!!

OMG what a beautiful babies can never have to many cats in my opinion as long as they get along. Have had many in my life, the last one died at the old age of 22. I have found that long haired cats are nicer than short haired. TY for sharing your babies with us

It is not called a ''mom'' when you do not have kids and animals are not kids, they are animals, maybe start showing animals some respect as the Animals that they are. All you are is called a pet owner, guardian if that is preferred, but no such thing as a ''cat mom'' bcz the only mom of an animals is the one who gave birth. Sooo.

TRUE STORY: My mom always gave our puppy Kodiak stuffed animals to chew on and play with. When she'd let him out, he'd run to his house and bring her one to throw to him. One day we all went outside to together to barbecue, and 10 seconds later my mom starts SCREAMING bloody murder. Turns out Kodi had caught his first real animal hours earlier, and he was chasing my poor mom around the yard trying to get her to take it. My late dad passed at 60 in 2012. In none of my 43 years on this earth have I ever seen a man laugh harder than he did that day at the site of Kodi repeatedly ramming a dead squirrel into the back of my mom's legs and butt as she fled in terror. 😂😂😂RIP dad and Kodi. EDIT: That was 1999. Although she wasn't a grandmother then, she now has 5 between 14 and 22 years old. None have or ever will receive a stuffed animal from "Granny." She hasn't bought one in 24 years😂😂😂 FINAL EDIT: I forgot the part where he dropped the very dead squirrel right into her hands first. She throws it, he thinks its a game of fetch, then the chase begins...

I got my female cat a soft dragonfly toy when she was a little baby. She's 15 now and still carries it around 'talking' to it each day as if its her actual baby. She doesnt wrestle or bite it, just carries it in her mouth making little mewling sounds....so cute! 😊

Cats always do better with other cats, for the most part. I've lived with 15 cats so far in my lifetime, and I know this to be true. They tend to get lonely, bored, anxious, and crazy without other kitty's to live with. For some of my cats, if they went a short time being an "only" was very hard on them.

I had a cat that I adopted when she was 5 weeks old. I gave her a beenie baby that was the same size as her. She loved it all her life. As she got older, even after I had more cats, she would carry that Beenie Baby like it was her own baby. When she would put it down, she would whine at it and talk to it when I wasn't looking. She did it for 20 years, and laid with it. She passed away a lil' over a year ago just prior to making it to 21 years old. She loved her Alroy Beenie!

What a couple of cuties, I'm so glad they get along well, and so quickly too. We have a cat we're fostering right now that also is lonely but he grew up as an only cat and doesn't know what to think of other cats. So he'll follow them around wanting to play but constantly hissing. He's getting over it though. We have some other calm cats that put up with his silliness.
