Hi Kev, those Microns sound great :-) I've been looking for a Micron exhaust on my previous 2000 VFR 800FI, but sold the bike before I had the chance to find a descent one. I happen to have a grey 2002 VFR for about 15 years now. Best bike I've ever owned. Just one problem with the HISS in about 70,000 km's. I Bought it second hand with two carbonfibre Devil racingcans on. (got the originals with it) They sound amazing!!! Obviously not road legal, but there is no MOT in Belgium so I carry on ;-) They are not too loud in my opinion, but they sound as if you have a pissed off dinosaur behind your back :-D But, just as the Micron cans they seem a bit too long. I wonder if it would be possible to cut off an inch.

Have you thought about fitting a Power Commander given you've fitted these aftermarket exhausts? You might be able to smooth out the fueling and low speed running even more and possibly reconnect the PAIR system. Just a thought.
@KevsShed5 жыл бұрын
Of course I have thought about it. Maybe the subject for a future video! ;)
@alexmorgan34355 жыл бұрын
@@KevsShed Thanks for your reply and for making your videos. Very easy how to guides. Yes I realise the Power Commander option is ££££, but if your aftermarket exhausts are listed you can alter the engine mapping to take into account or maybe custom map? The latter I don't know about. I still have std pipes on mine. Would like an aftermarket system but 1) don't want one that is too loud and really annoys the neighbours plus be wearing on long rides and 2) a system that doesn't break the bank! How have you found the Micron pipes since you fitted them?
@KevsShed5 жыл бұрын
@@alexmorgan3435 I find that with the flapper and snorkel mods, the difference in note is astounding when the VTEC comes on song! Obviously it's personal preference but I find it quite addictive! I agree about the annoying of the neighbours problem though, I do intend to pick up a couple of baffles for MOT time and i'll do a video involving them soon.

I plan on fitting a power commander V to mine even though I have standard cans. The fueling at low speed drives me mad after coming off an in-line 4 with carbs

Hi Kev. They sound great. Another quality video. I know it's up a while, but did you notice the fuel consumption get worse after fitting these. Thanks

Hi Kev, I have the same system on my bike, the orientation of the cans look like they could be spun inwards just a little, so the micron badge is a little higher......only saying though!!!

And do you have to put baffles in for MOT...….I did up here, then took them straight out as you do.
@KevsShed5 жыл бұрын
@@robertreid6830 As it happens, I don't have any baffles, could probably do with a set though, do you happen to have a picture of yours or at the least the dimensions so that I can perhaps find a pair?
This is what I used Kev, just check your ID of your pipes, sure the nearest was 51mm though for the best fit.

Bought a power commander 5 for my vfr vtec on e bay but it says it’s for a ZZR1400..would it still be of use for my bike Kev ?
@KevsShed3 жыл бұрын
The unit itself is universal, it’s the map loaded to it and the connectors that piggyback it onto the bike loom that make the power commander bike specific

Kev,great video,one quick question,is there a gasket connecting the vertical rear part of the exhaust to the part it connects too ......
@KevsShed5 жыл бұрын
No buddy, it just slips over and there is a clamp to secure it. I did use a little exhaust assembly paste on the joint though.

Hello Kev- is it possible to change the dual Exhaust on my 2006 VFR to a side Exhaust like the VFR 2001 model?

I have absolutely no idea! I’ve never seen it done, even on the owners groups. To be fair, you would be left with a strange looking gap under the seat unit! 👍🏻
