I play my bamboo flutes through guitar pedals live all the time. Seems I'm always looking for a reverb that gets out of the way, or one that does just the opposite. The Silver Lake has been my favorite so far with it's Dynamic Expression feature. Presets and midi make it a keeper. Catalinbread makes some fine pedals, love my Adineko and Zeropoint pedals, nothing else like 'em.

That true/buffered bypass thing seems to be a feature of Catalinbread pedals. My Echorec is exactly the same (although it is in the manual).

Funny enough, you can hear this sort of reverb with a slight slapback effect on the drums in an early Shadows number titled Midnight. Give it a listen!

Seems like this might actually be a good My Bloody Valentine reverse reverb substitute/alternative.
