Dave Williams, editor, replying here. Have you heard the Tuareg word pronounced with your own ears? That would be dope. I believe "Ténéré " is the French version of the Tuareg "Tiniri", the name of a specific region in the Sahara colonized by... the French. Regardless, your phonetics are a better Anglo Saxon version than my Amurican for sure. If I remember my French phonemes correctly, all three "é " in that word would be pronounced identically, and none of your 3 phonemes are it, because we don't have that vowel as a stand alone sound in English/American. Your closest version is the "ay" you have at the end, which is actually an English/American diphthong (2 vowels blended into one sound), but the first half of it is the "é " in French. Just say that "ay" sound as in "ray" without finishing the diphthong with an "ee". Stop before you start the transition to the "ee" sound at the end of "ray" and you'll have the French vowel. Same sound as the vowel "e" in Spanish. But, as I said, your version is way better than my butchered 'Murican version. Of course, if you speak French then you know all this, which maybe you do since you wrote "close enough."

For the street, stay within a brand. For the track, stay with the brand and model.
