Catastrophic flooding in Iowa damages nearly 2k properties

Historic flooding in northwest Iowa has left communities underwater. Nearly 2,000 properties are believed to have been damaged, and hundreds destroyed. Some cities are struggling without power, while others have no drinking water. FOX 9’s Courtney Godfrey has the latest.

State Farm is having a heart attack. Flooding is the worst type of disaster to clean up and rebuild.

Get the National Guard to send all that water to Southern Idaho where the local government is preventing the farmers from watering their crops, as in potatoes

I send my prayers to your community. The city I live in had its "1000" year flood 11 years ago. Many people had airlift rescues. My home was spared because we live higher up, but everyone else on my street had severe damage. FEMA was in my neighborhood. Whats funny , the city I live in is a mountain community. Yes, we have floods too. I know how floods affects a community. 11 years later, some homes were never rebuilt. FEMA did a risk assessment for my state and I live in the area with the greatest risk for fire. Keep us in your prayers too. 3 times in the last 4 years I had evacuation orders because of fire. The world with climate change is very scary. It touches us all

@@czarcastic1458 In total, the blue states have a GDP of $11.1 trillion while the red states have a GDP of $5.6 trillion. The bottom fives states with the lowest income and education are all red states.

@@MrLinuso Obviously you don't follow global events, old man. Big flooding occurrences are breaking out randomly all over the world. A warmer atmosphere holds more moisture resulting in these rain bombs. Most of the additional heat retained in the atmosphere from the gargantuan increase in greenhouse gases is going into the oceans, bringing more evaporation as well. The climate has changed and will only get worse.

@@MrLinuso Just one, one example you don't think about: How many millions of miles of sewer was there back then? Ok, add all the forest and land that were holding that water too... Just one factor in this huge mess. Give it a break with the pattern, yes floods happened before, but times have changed so much.

I would never buy or build anywhere remotely near a tributary. It only takes one event like this to completely wipe out everything you own and turn your life into a living hell. And way too many people that do don’t purchase flood insurance either

When Gump visited the U.K. in June 2019, he had tea with Prince Charles. The Prince took the opportunity to try to explain accelerated climate change caused by global warming to Gump, a science illiterate who hates to read and dismisses it all as a Chinese hoax. Prince Charles gave it his best shot. As reported in the Guardian, Gump sat there bored and his eyes glazed over. At the end of Charles' explanation, Gump perked up and proudly announced that he had received awards for his properties having the "cleanest climates." He then said the water has to be crystal clean and the U.S. has the cleanest climate. Gump went on to say that he believed the scientists were lying to get rich and everything would be fine. Prince Charles was aghast at the man's ignorance and realized he'd wasted his time on this crude dunce. He just gave Gump a sad half smile and look of pity and told Gump he liked his shoes.
