Neither did I until this year. I almost fished a jig exclusively all season long and have broke my PB twice with large mouth and got a new on pb small mouth also on the jig. Now I can’t put it down…. Once you get bit a few good times you won’t want to fish another lure 😂. I love jigs now

You are right Tyler,I've heard my whole life that the jig is an almighty killer as far as bass fishing is concerned, however I've been an avid angler my whole life but never gained confidence in a jig...maybe it's just that the bite comes differently than other baits

Growing up I personally have never given a S about a jig. After watching your video I did some research and found that todays jigs are amazing. So many colors and styles. Anyways, I've been hitting 3 ponds close to my house here in central Ohio. For the 3rd day in a row I have gone out and caught 1-3lb bass every day using a beautiful pbj buckeye lures jig. I went from never using them to making them my most go to lure. They look so pretty all set up with a nice bait cast. Throw it way out, let it drop then wait 5 seconds and you get someone's attention. Thank you so much for making me a believer of these and giving them the respect, they deserve because they work!

I typically use a T-rig being a bank angler but I have caught a bass on a jig. It was a Strike King. Can't remember if it was the bitsy bug or the other little inexpensive one they make but I do remember that it was black and brown with a black and red Zoom UV speed craw and I was pretty excited about it. Nothing crazy, maybe a pound to pound and a half but it was the coolest thing because I had zero confidence in anything happening other than loosing the jig, which I did a few casts later but it was still pretty awesome.

Got a green pumpkin strike king bitsy flip jig and some green pumpkin yum craw chunks for 5 bux total at walmart on clearance. They have been slamming the green pumpkin wacky worm for me but I've seen guys in bass boats throwing jigs along the sides of the river so I'm gonna give it a try! Your videos taught me how to rig it up and how to fish it so I have a feeling I'll catch some fish tomorrow on it! I just hope my heavier spinning rod can set the hook! Gonna get a baitcast for next season and learn that but in the meantime might as well try it anyway!

Idk if you will see this but I was watching a chad Hoover video about jigs and making sure that your rod was fast or super fast so that your jig was not jumping too far over cover under water I was curious what you thought about this I’ve been playing around with it and I see what he means when the tip is more soft when you pop it over cover then it’s more like a spring but when you get the hook set then it keeps them pinned better so it’s kind of a toss up

It might be a little to pricey for me, I was hoping for a combo for between 100 and 150, but I definitely will be thinking about it, Also I fish a lake where the biggest bass I've caught is the 5 pounder, would the medium heavy be overdoing it? Also should I get 7ft or 7,3? Whatever you say I'll give it a try! Thanks for the advice!

I am not sure why, but almost fishing KZbinrs fail to mention one thing about jigs. They talk about casting a 1/2 oz jig, but fail to mention that the bait they will cast is more like 3/4 or even 1 oz after the trailer is added.
@TylersReelFishing
@TylersReelFishing 9 ай бұрын
You’re right about that. But that’s a fact that I don’t think really matters. Unless you’re one to push the weight range your rod can handle, which I don’t. I throw my jigs on MH and H power rods
@jimmcculloch5825
@jimmcculloch5825 9 ай бұрын
I guess I just pay too much attention to the actual weight of a lure. As far as the weight rating of a rod, as Matt with TB says, it is only a suggestion. @@TylersReelFishing

I want to catch one on a jig but here in Florida there’s so much vegetation and the bottom is so muddy and weedy, makes it near impossible
@TylersReelFishing

I have caught lots of fish in Florida on a jig. Go lighter like 3/8, and swim it above the vegetation. Unless it’s “snot” grass, you should be able to hop the jig around the grass

I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

I don’t trust the connection knot on line that size. I trust it on small line like 15lb braid to 10lb fluoro. I just don’t tie a good enough FG to go from 40lb braid to 17lb flouro

Bubba I love you and your videos they are so instructional your good at showing,telling and teaching. Buuuttttt there is something missing the reason why you're not bigger there's got to be a reason why have you reached out people like norm or ayo maybe ever Marlin baits something of that nature I propose a KZbin tournament maybe? I like that you tried my other idea of showing a dummy, how to fish and then the dummy getting it. I just wish you would have used a dummy and not you. You're too smart to play stupid. Sorry, but it's the truth. You need an authentic dummy. Find new one. It will work comedic relief. Don't just be instructional. Be entertaining also. Bill dance I wish I could talk to you in person cuz I have a bunch of other ideas. I just don't want it type it out. You ever come to Central Florida? Hit me up bud. God bless you. I hope your audience finds you. It's a massive one I already know

I almost feel like you have your guard up too high You're not yourself. I feel like you're trying really hard to figure out what people like instead of not caring that much and just having fun when you have fun. Other people have fun when you smile, other people smile. Have fun show that side. Do you have a best friend someone that you joke around with that? You can just be you around, not Tyler from KZbin show that side still do your thing instruct. Tell people how to do stuff. Show them how to do it. I just feel like you're in a shell this is just a fans opinion.
