I love that u show the struggle and teach and explain along the way. As someone barely learning how to fish, it’s so helpful. Great content!

So, I sub to all you guys(Ace/Fisherman's Life/Outdoor Chef etc), but I think you and OC are probably my favorites. You just both seem like really normal guys. Idk, maybe it's the slight awkwardness of improvisation, or just the genuine way you guys seem to talk about catching/cooking the food. Keep 'em comin', dude, this stuff never gets old to me. It's also just really nice to see the West Coast and stuff, since I live in Louisiana, and I've only ever fished here.

WTG on the PB linger! Anytime you manage to pull in a big keeper ling, cab, or rockfish from shore is always a special treat. Their coloring is _so_ beautiful when you first yank them out of the water-- same with greenlings & cabs-- before they go dull. Nice to see you tackling that stretch of coast again as well!

I have not heard the name lingcod since I left California 55 years ago. When I was in my teen years, we fished around Anacapa Island many times and caught a few lingcod. I have so many memories of those fishing trips. Thanks for the recall. I enjoy your vids.

Hey Daniel, I just rewatched this video Although you didn’t film the catch with your GoPro, your replay, walk thru, excitement, and hand gestures was the best non-filmed catch EVER. 😀! Also, I enjoyed been there next to the lingcod in the water pool, felt like I was a fish in a fish tank !!!

Brilliant idea. Putting the GoPro in the rock pool with the lingcod. The teeth!

Nice Catch! Get yourself a light aluminum extension painters pole, and then get a screw on painters roller bend it into the shape of a gaff, sharpen it, then you'll have a long gaff, (mine is 16' ft) that way you can gaff the bigger ones that you'll hook without taking chances in those dangerous "good spots"

0)Word of caution on those metal clip stringers. I lost a big walleye (about the same size of your lingcod) when it jerked the clip open and calmly swam away. That was the last time I used it. Only rope stringers for me now.

Nice one! I have never caught anything on mussels.. Good call going back and getting the bait. Also it pays off finding places that are not overfished. Luckily most people dont go further than 10 min from the parking lot. How about a ride&catch? I throw my telescoping pole in the top box and filet everything on site.
