The cellphone moment was classic. I've been there. Who hasn't? But it made a poignant reminder of why I love free range sailing. You two are never on your phones on these videos. Maybe that's choice, maybe you choose the footage, but it makes a point to live in the moment and enjoy what you're doing, who you're with, and live in the now. Even if you aren't trying to make that point, that's what I get out of it. Thanks you two, you inspire me.

If there were any pre conceived ideas about cruising and spending time on a boat they were quickly dispensed with. Either you guys are going to need a bigger boat or someone else in the family is going to do it for you because you've revealed a life style that can never be put back in the box. Love your family Pascale and I'm certain everyone spent some time contemplating how they can organize ways of repeating the experience more often.

@@franksomeone2793 Whoa Frank, Dude, what's with the raw hostility, these guys are sustainably fishing, harvesting food from the wild to make up a substantial part of their dlet. Now I am ok with you taking exception with them killing animals for food, if your a vegetarian and have personally taken that ethical decision, but I'd like to know what other moral code you think Troy (or anyone else for that matter) violates if they swiftly, humanely, effectively, catches, dispatches an abundant medium to small sized animal for their consumption, effectively and respectfully utilising as much of the creature as possible to feed themselves? They are not taking it for just it's fins (they consumed the meat), they are not drift netting (selective line fishing), they didn't just catch it and torture it for their own amusement to just let it go, or needlessly club it to death to just dump it.......they used it (ethical IMHO). Please explain your reaction, and why you were watching anyway.........this is what they do.
@FreeRangeLiving5 жыл бұрын
It was killed for food. Shark numbers are increasing in our waters. Hyperbole isn't a sound argument.
@bunyipdan5 жыл бұрын
It would appear that the comment and response from 'frank someone' has been removed, he was disturbed by the shark being taken in last ep. Unfortunately I still feel the need to respond......although in general I support shark conservation movement......this is not really the issue in this case......the shark taken, appears to be a Spot-tail shark, Carcharhinus sorrah) an abundanant, fast growing, small (50-160cm), mature at around 2 yrs relatively short lived species (7yrs), not endemic, and not migratory,......therefore low risk.......and was dispatch in an ethical way and ultimately consumed. Shark conservation is an important and complex issue but should not be conflated by the way Troy conducts himself.. My apologies if this is now redundant or has unnecessarily bored anyone
@FreeRangeLiving5 жыл бұрын
@@bunyipdan we didn't remove the comment. Looks like Frank Someone scrapped them. You're on the money there thanks for your input.

@@FreeRangeLiving No worries, didn't think you did, just feel he was misguided and maybe over reacted a little to the dispatching (cleanest practical way I know), and didn't want my comment to make no sense. I certainly appreciate your approach.......would have liked to have seen a bit more cooking, keep up the great content, thanks for sharing......btw one ep everyday will do just fine, cheers ;)

I have to say ya'll are brave! (but then maybe ya'll know something that i don't). Large Mackerel carry the same toxins as large Snappers and barracuda's. that's because they all are predator fish. they larger they get the more of the smaller fish they've eaten that have small doses of the toxins from the algae that's toxic to humans. of course, if i am right, the potential toxicity is in direct proportion to the likelihood that they've fed off from reef bait fish, and further, whether or not that reef (if it existed) is in an area that is more polluted than other areas from the boating industry. It seems the highest concentration of the toxins are in relationship to the waters that are the most polluted, from the boating industry, within the tropical zone/s.
