Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! UPDATE: We had left the boat down in Florida on the hard, all prepped for hurricane season. The boat also needed a good refit before going back in the water and our money was running low after the trip so the timing was right on all of that. This led us back to get jobs and working again to get life back in order. We have not been in a position where we can be supported and grow from solely creating and uploading videos, so therefore we had to refocus efforts for our personal growth. Thank you for everyone who has always supported us on Patreon, bought T-shirts and have given things along the way, we would not be able to go as far as we have without you. On that note, as an effort to stay with our passion for sailing, boating and being on the water, Wes has picked up a job working for a company's boat yard, learning lots on body work/fiberglass work, wet sanding, winterizing, hauling, trailering and picking up some engine certifications soon. We've been just caught up with work and making progress on plans, life! Sorry for the side track, just need to be in a good position for growth and pay for all the things that need to be paid for, health insurance, maintenance cost, boat costs, dental, FOOD. We cannot be stuck in a position of saving, going on a trip, spending it all and essentially coming back with very little and being in a bad place. BOAT UPDATE: Currently we are planning and saving up and will be getting the boat back home so we can get going on some projects. Theres a lot we want to do to get the boat up to speed, comfortable and safe. So that is what our goal is, get the boat back home, refit, work jobs save money and make videos of the processes. Thank you everyone for your patience and support. It has really helped us keep this going, our passions have always been sailing, boating and being on the water so that is what we are sticking to! Just got hung up and needed to refocus our efforts with other work so we can achieve our goals and be in a safe place of growth! Going to be releasing the rest of our Bahamas videos, we will also give a more current update video from the boatyard? coming up and will continue making videos of our process. Again thank you for the patience happy holidays, merry christmas and happy new year if you dont hear from us before than! Thank you to all the awesome supporters and kind words, we appreciate you all.

We really missed you. And totally understand why you had to go back to work. It takes a lot to be self supported by KZbin and Patreon. Keep sailing and working. It will pay off in the end. Buy a house and turn it into income property. It’s a 10 year ish plan but it will go by fast. Your young. Good luck.

Sometimes in life you just need to take a break, regroup, and plan ahead. It's just one of life's gotta dos. Idea! I have a couple friends who have Catalina 30s, and one has a 10 hp. outboard mounted on his transom in addition to the inboard. He says he will always have the outboard on hand, because not only has the outboard gotten him home when the main quit, but the added, and steerable thrust helped him when he once ran aground, and that steerable thrust also helps to maneuver the boat in tight quarters or when the wind is up. Fair winds, and looking forward to seeing you two back on the water.

Well they are still alive atleast... From facebook: Hope everyone had a wicked merry Christmas this year Wes, Lola and I have been living back in the Boston area for the last year, longer than we planned but unfortunately traveling isn’t as simple as it used to be. Our Wicked Salty adventure is ever evolving and we might not always know what’s next but what we DO know is that our love for each other, sailing and the sea will never change. With that said, videos and regular content are not our priority right now

I just want to thank you for not closing the channel down. It's great to watch a rerun on occasion...heck maybe you'll be back someday! I find sailing to be consuming and takes away from other adventures....I usually buy a small sailboat, obsess for a couple years and sell it....on my third now...selling it this spring.

A new video, especially one showing that you guys are OK was a great Christmas present. And no one knows better than you when it is time to stand down and replenish, be it monetary, physical (thankfully the boat and not you guys), or spiritual. A pause is good for us all from time to time. My wishes for smooth sailing, following seas and currents, warm water and fair breezes to all three of you.

Wow I wasn't expecting to get a video from Wicked Salty for Christmas. I am pretty stoked about it! I am guessing that you folks had some time off and a chance to compile a video. I could perhaps hope you went back to the boat and are starting a new season, but I think the chances are better you are back home doing the daily grind. How are you doing with the medical stuff these days Wes?
@WickedSalty5 жыл бұрын
OK thank you for the concerns and support Allyn! Just working and saving, found a job at a boatyard, learning more and more and getting paid for sticking with the passion! more updates on that to come. Still getting good health insurance squared away lol.... also why we are figuring this stuff out now!
@allynonderdonk75775 жыл бұрын
@@WickedSalty Well if you can get the boatyard work thing down, you could maintain any boat. Also if you need some refit info like on watermakers I have the hookup. Super cheap watermakers with good components. Get some good insurance too, it helps especially when getting stressed out.

Dang! I binged-watched for a week, starting at the beginning, to catch up just to find out you're back in Mass. I've really enjoyed tagging along on all your misadventures. lol I think you should name the boat Careless Whisper, seeing as how you guys kind of just "wing it" most of the time. I mean that in the nicest way, of course. Good luck in 2020. Lola is such a cool dog.

It was so nice to come to my computer and find a posting from you kids! Hopefully, you had a wonderful holiday yourselves and enjoyed all of that yummy looking conch. Never had it but it looks like fried clams on steroids, yes? Your update is very informative, with lots of details about your immediate plans and those out and beyond. Question: why do you have to take the boat all the way back North for the refit?

Wow! The ocean floor looks pretty barren. Have the powers that should not be killed off most of the sea life with their geo-engineering? Why don't you make seviche with the conch? Just marinate in chopped onion, lime juice for an hour and throw in your jalapenos and before eating add chopped green or red peppers and cilantro. No need to cook it.

"Queen conch was once found in high numbers in the Florida Keys but, due to a collapse in conch fisheries in the 1970s, it is now illegal to commercially or recreationally harvest queen conch in that state. The United States is responsible for the consumption of 80% of the world's internationally traded queen conch." Real cool guys.....but at least u got some views right?
@enjoyeverything71654 жыл бұрын
They are in the Bahamas, not Florida. Rather or not they should be caught an eaten is another issue but the consumption of the snail is a major part of the local culture so sustainable fishing regulations will be more likely than a ban.
