Whenever I see your videos, I can't help but notice how well you shoot, edit and synchronize. I know it take a lot of effort to do what you do. I once was a cinema major and know how hard this is. Greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I love watching coastal foraging and catch and cooks, but the way you go about it is so much more concise than a lot of others and the care that goes into the editing makes the mood of the videos really nice. Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch a British guy crawling around the beach for 30 minutes telling me about all the flora and fauna and facts he's talked about 200 times before... but I like this style a little more lol.

Yowza! Glad you were able to get some rock crabs so I could watch you make the crab risotto! It looks delicious and I might try it with clams as living in Toronto, I am far from the crabbing areas. Dungeness crabs are available here but at about $40 a pound. I’ve got to move to the shore. Thank you very much for sharing Daniel. Cheers, Colin.

So is my wife and she will never risk it again! If it has iodine she isn't eating it!! Makes me crazy though, she loved all seafood and one of my favorite things is crab snaring!! She didn't develop this allergy until later in life.

The Male crabs use their bigger claws to clasp the female crab claws since they're claws are smaller and then link both the apron and lighthouse organs for reproduction throughout the season which can result in claws being torn off during affairs.

Looooks so good!!! Did your gf enjoy it?? Im going to replay the video and write down the recipe.. Thanks Daniel! P.s. The underside of the Female looks like a Sugar Skull
@outdoorfreedom97784 жыл бұрын
The female crab tastes exactly like the males. For those that have to travel long distances to go crabbing it's normal to keep the legal females as long as they don't have the eggs like they do early in the season. Most of the locals-only keep the males unless they are red rocks.
@NickFish0074 жыл бұрын
Yum that looked good. Crabbing sucks this year 👎
@SpamMusubi3084 жыл бұрын
Ya know that's odd you'd figure with the quarantine and all there'd be less pressure but no maybe the crabs are doing the sock, distancing thing 😷🤣🤣🤣
@melvincollins81044 жыл бұрын
Good stuff. I have to admit though when I saw you were making Risotto I was a bit disappointed. Sure it sounds impressive because a lot of fancy restaurants serve it. Your best cook IMHO was when you made steamed fish for your grandmother. That really worked because it was more authentic and personable. When I visit san fran I got to a Chinese place and get myself a dungy. I'll look for that style where they fry it, then add flavor in Wok with some fried garlic. Other variations you could try are like chilli crab or black pepper sauce crab.
@larryculiver16904 жыл бұрын
First time watching your videos you got a good Channel but just cuz you can keep the females you should still throw them back it's just wrong to keep the females there's a lot of male crabs out there
