wow, look at that calm clear water. Great shot of that flounder in the water.

Flounder is one of the only fish I can eat regularly, how did I miss this video when I first came to your channel?!?!
@bills16135 жыл бұрын
Bama, I've snagged quite a few flounder over the years but didn't realize that there's that much beautiful filet meat on a single good sized fish. I've always thrown them back but I may have to rethink that now. And that was a delicious looking meal you prepared especially with the rice and black beans! Yak and Sam ain't got nuthin on y'all when it comes to "catch and cook" (don't tell them I said that!). I'm glad you included Courtney and baby in her papoose sling thingy. You have a beautiful family! You're living the dream Brother!!! I live in the mountains and get to surf fish about once to twice a year, for the last 40/50 years or so, on the Atlantic east coast. You are so lucky to make a living doing 'guided/chartered surf fishing!' And to have a wife supportive of your dream! Holy Shenikies, I would never have thunk of such an idea! If I thought that I could pull it off I'd sell all my crap and be beach bound today! I've been trying to figure out how to start a fishing charter business (my dream) for the last 30 years while living 300 miles from the coast, and there you go and slide in with the right idea, at the right time, at the right place! Hats off and God bless you Sir! I think we need to start a campaign to get your subs to 50 or 100k! Take care. Oh BTW, I think you oughta start marketing Bama Beach Buffs along with your other stuff. I need a buff before my next vacation trip and I'd prefer one of yours.

Now that my son wants to fish, I think the next step is bringing some of these fish home for dinner. Man that looks good. Just last night we threw back 3 snook and 3-4 keeper trout. These fish could be saving me money around dinner time! anyways thanks again. just found the channel.

Matt - you might not see this since this is an older video, but try out Goya black bean soup as a side for black beans. Publix sells them. They are seasoned almost perfectly in a sauce and work perfect with rice. Just strain out some of the liquid with a slotted spoon when scooping onto the rice. I promise you won't be disappointed.

we just got back from a trip to fort morgan and we did an inshore trip and caught 6 flounders right by the concrete wall right past the bridge there as the bay empties into the gulf. it was right at high tide so we would motor up to the start of that concrete and just drift back to the bridge draggin lines on the bottom. I lightly battered them in seasoned cornmeal and deep fried them and some hush puppies. I brought the left overs home and made some flounder patties (fish cakes) and did a video for my other channel that will be up Monday. those flounder are delicious, I called em "the crappie of the sea"nice t4r btw and roll tide

Hey Matthew! How do you get to that area of the Intercoastal in Orange Beach where you were fishing?
@BamaBeachBum7 жыл бұрын
clotwell It’s right over the Perdido Pass bridge. As soon as you cross over the bridge headed East there is a right turn that takes you back under the bridge to the parking lot.

Bama Beach Bum howdy from Texas! My family has been going down to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach for vacation for years. We are going back this summer for our family reunion. Planning to do some beach and pier fishing then. I have a 6'6" medium power Ugly Stik combo that I use for bass that I am planning to take with me. It has the cheap spinning reel on it now that came with it which I am going to replace with a better reel before then. Will this be good enough for flounder and some of the other species like you catch?
@BamaBeachBum6 жыл бұрын
Bass gear will work in most cases. You can catch the majority of fish in the surf with it. It is only more difficult when it is rough out.

The only thing I don’t like here is your handling of that fish after it was caught. You should dispatch it and bleed it immediately. Leaving it alive on,a stringer is not fair to the fish,and it also not bleeding will make flesh quality suffer.
