Brother, I’m so glad you said this! Fall and spring transition for Crappie is on going and different creek to creek!! You will fail more than you succeed but when you succeed it’s awesome! You have to go and get skunked over and over and over, before you finally find them. Where they were last year is not where they are this year… I have over 10 lakes within 30 to 40 minute drive of my house, each one of those lakes has multiple creeks, we walk miles of bank looking… Sometimes in vain. When we finally find them, which we always do, all of the viewers start begging for the location. As if after months of searching and walking through dense words… We’re just going to give that up! 🙄 This video was definitely made to just show the struggle of checking small creeks, but the jig and bobber portion of it actually took off! I had no idea that was gonna happen. When the fish move up in better numbers. I will remake this video more comprehensively showing rigging and different techniques we use. And I very much appreciate your sub!!! Thank you!!

This was a simple trip out to a creek near my house, I didn’t expect this video to get this much attention. So cut me some slack! 🤣🤣 catch a few of my other videos before you pass judgment! 😜👀🐟🐟 It’s not always easy,, as a matter fact it’s most of the time not easy! You need to walk a lot, and try a lot of places… But when you find the fish it’s worth it! Don’t expect instant results

I always take a small 4ft-5ft rod when I creek fish along with a 9-10ft. I fish my side with a long rod, I cast across the creek with the short rod. I almost eliminated hang ups because most of mine came from trying to cast with a longer rod. I love creek fishing for crappie.

I have been fishing a 2 acre pond in my backyard for 10 years catching LMB. I recently caught a crappie and thought it was a fluke. Then my friend caught a crappie two days later. Now I am hooked on trying to catch them (no luck in two days). I had no idea where to start but this video showed me what bobbers to get, the lures used, the moving of spots, and where to cast. I had to subscribe.
@BarFlyFishingTexas3 жыл бұрын
A lot of times, live minnows work much better in a confined space like a pond, then artificial Baits do. Not always but more often than not. If you want to catch quite a few, get you some minnows, and a slip cork, figure out your depth, and fish just off the bottom. Move around till you find them, but once you find them, you’ll catch them one after another until you get tired of it or run out of minnows 🤣

So why do they go super shallow when the water temp drops? Seems counter intuitive. Don’t fish normally head for the warmer / deeper water when temp drops?
@BarFlyFishingTexas3 жыл бұрын
Shallow water warms up during the day if the suns out. Coldwater holds more dissolved oxygen than hot water, And that’s where the bait goes. Stained water warmed faster than clear water so you were going to be looking for shallow Creek‘s that are stained water, with deep holes and pockets. And also be looking for bait like Shad

That sure is some Dirty Water. Obviously that is common in the Southern States. Out West in California in the Delta area which is Sacramento and Stockton and the Lakes too, the Water is much cleaner generally speaking. When I was a Truck Driver going through the Southern States I noticed the difference in the Water clarity compared to California. I would think to myself 🤔 Wow! That sure is some Dirty Water and people are fishing in that. You gotta be kidding me. No Thanks. But you have what you have. Fishing is Fishing 🎣 Just Spoiled here in California. Fishing in the Sierra Mountains for Trout and all the way through the Valley for Strippers, Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, and to the Ocean. Just Spoiled for sure. Tight Lines 🎣 Everyone.

Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats kzbin.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
