A record of two sessions (recorded 20.08.20 and 28.08.20) fished at Sovereign Park in Eastbourne (East Sussex, UK). The first is on a spring and ebbing tide, while the second is over low water on a neap and a flooding tide.
I had previously fished this mark in February 2020 ( • SOVEREIGN PARK (EASTBO... ) and caught unseasonal / early plaice and dabs. I really wanted to come back and fish here in the spring, but circumstances didn't allow that, so late August had to do; still with the idea of catching plaice. A single plaice showed in the first attempt, but soles made an appearance on both occasions, making these enjoyable sessions. All rigs used and venue location are covered in this video and there are some spectacular weather phenomena evident in the second session - a tornado is filmed moving across Eastboure Pier as I fish!
This video accompanies the series I produced on catching fish at a range of marks in Eastbourne during spring and summer:

Yes, you never know what might happen when you're out Stefan - you have to be there to experience it. Its not always about the catching, but that helps of course! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Another great watch, could you do a beginners guide to leads I notice you not using grip wire leads you mention roving the baits I’m still learning but would be great to hear your views as when to and not to use certain rigs in different conditions . Please keep the vids coming fantastic.

Will do Lee at some point - still don't think I've covered a large enough range of sea fishing scenarios to produce general guides to rigs, leads and tactics etc. This will come in time, but at the moment I'll try to mention why I use specific gear and the approach at the specific venues I'm currently fishing. Thanks for watching and your support.

Just love this video expecially the 28,8,20,, question what do you call sort range and distance as you don't seem to cast the rods hard 👌🏾
@rodsangleuk6283
@rodsangleuk6283 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy - these rods cast well without putting in much effort. By at distance, I'm meaning 100m or more - but that's guess work depending on conditions. When I first cast with one, it was in a field behind where the Colmic rep was fishing - a 130g Turkana bomb went 148 steps using 25lb mono on my reel and I didn't put any effort in to that either.

@@rodsangleuk6283 thank you for you reply Rod that's very helpful. I just read your reply to another watcher about filming you put a lot of work into filming and editing and still find time to catch fish lol, I will only watch your videos as the effort and the way you explain thing helps me and sure many others catch fish or gets them out to the beach. Thanks Rod. 👍🏾

Thanks @gazellis1961. Yes, the tips sit well in the tide and show up everything. The 07s cast further than my Grauvells, so are a good buy.

Caught my smallest ever Bass yesterday. On a stinger rig that had put out due to the lots of small knocks and 2" whiting that I knew were about. Sadly, no larger Bass came along to scoff the lot.

Are you using size 4 hooks for the sole?
@rodsangleuk6283
@rodsangleuk6283 4 жыл бұрын
Good question Pat. Normally I would use a dedicated sole rig for targeting the species, with size 3 Nordic bend hooks (which are fine wire) - here I caught them on my plaice set up with size 2 or size 4 Aberdeens. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have been watching your video with great interest. I have one question. What camera are you using? I am greatly impressed with the quality of video and sound that make your video so interesting to watch. I support anglers with learning disabilities to engage and enjoy all forms of angling. I have been asked if I can make short video of their day so they have a record to show family and friends. I have been showing your videos to the people I support and we are using them to plan our winter visits around the Kent and Sussex coat. Thank you from all of us.

Hi Jim and thanks for your interest. I use a range of action cameras and a Canon G7X. For filming others and for ease of editing, you can't go wrong with a GoPro - the image stabalisation and colour accuracy, together with great autofocus and timelapse capability and having the ability to pair up with external mics makes it a winner. Good luck and all the best.
