Hey there, I’m originally from Newfoundland the most northern part of the province. I was watching you break the crab into a through away the insides of the crab. That’s the best part of the crab.

Oh, Eivin what a beautiful place, and what gorgeous skies. I had no idea that Homer Spit was five miles long. I’m really enjoying Otto’s and your channels, it’s fantastic to get these glimpses into your lives as homesteaders. Thanks for sharing.

For any type of sunken pot or line fishing, I would recommend use of a sunken buoy with a corroding link. The links can be sized for hours, days, or weeks. They were marketed by a fellow in New Zealand when I ran across them 30 years ago. A quick internet search did not uncover a link to his website, but you can imagine a zinc rod with a eye hook at each end. Buoy is attached to one eye with a suitable anchor tied to the other. Once enough of the zinc rod corrodes the buoyancy of the buoy overcomes the tension of the link and the buoy surfaces.
