Awesome session guys and some good advice at the end of the video. I totally agree with picking a spot where the wind and tide are going in the same direction! Keep up the good work 🎣

Thanks heaps for the comment mate, I’m glad you enjoyed! Yes it makes a huge difference when your boat can just sit nice and still rather than swinging around like crazy or sitting side on to the current. Thanks again and tight lines! 😁🙌

Awesome session, hopefully I can get out soon and get some. If only you had working lights. Fantastic session on the whiting....

Thanks heaps mate! Fingers crossed you can get out and get some, there is still plenty of time left over summer.👌 Yeah our white light/anchor light is removable and we didn’t put it back on before this trip. I think they would have kept biting into the night!! Thanks for the support as usual, tight lines!

I’d like to throw some top waters over that bank 😍. Great eating fish guys, well done!

I’ve definitely thought about that mate, it could be epic 😎 I’m going to try it there one day for sure. It seems like the type of place up a quiet river/creek that they could just absolutely smash them. Thanks for the support mate, keep up the great videos yourself! 🎣

Rising moon while the sun sets with an incoming tide. Could it get much better for a whiting fishing session? 😉 I know that spot really well but I didn’t think whiting were that far up the Bremer/brisbane river area 😂😂😂
@willkitching Жыл бұрын
G’day Paul, believe it or not mate this isn’t up the Bremer/Brisbane! Trust me though - I wish those river systems were clean and full of whiting. 😂 I reckon once upon a time they would have been. But yes, those three conditions lining up (moon rise, late afternoon, run in tide over the shallows) definitely played a big part in the fish biting! We try to line up a couple of these ‘bite/weather factors’ when planning a trip, e.g. moon, tides, wind… but we just go fishing when we can 😁 Thanks for the support as always mate 🙌

@@willkitching nah I know it wasn’t that system mate of course not but yeh it wouldn’t be too bad if that was the case 😂😂 good session mate

How were you keeping your boat so stationary please.
@willkitching Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, believe it or not we weren’t doing anything special! All we were using was a single anchor tied off to the front of the boat, and I think the strong current kept us sitting pretty stationary. We purposely chose a day where the wind was going to be blowing the same direction as the tide, so that they were both pushing the boat in the same direction. If you try to anchor when the wind is going the opposite direction to the tide, your boat won’t sit straight and it will keep swinging around. We also try to fish on days with lighter winds which also helps, and fishing up this creek/river also kept us a bit protected from the wind too. I hope this helps mate, tight lines!

@@willkitching Thanks for the reply. Yes it had me baffled, couldn't hear an electric, and heard you comment at the beginning -that you set the anchor?. (Not anchors) Haha. Great pre planning and knowledge, and certainly paid off. Cheers.
