Hey Robbie you could put a flat plate near the base of the rod holder that you can push into the sand and it will stop the holder from being pulled over. You could make it detachable for when your fishing on a solid bank. Might just keep your feet dry and save your rod.

hey Robbie, great video, the fishings been really slow recently, I recommend going to the reservoir in merrigum and there's 2 lakes there, one small one, one big one, the big one has been stocked with big Murray cod from another water system, and the best bait to use there is chicken and you just drop your bait straight down at a pontoon and I got my first metery there, and a lot of other people have got meteries there, if you can go there it'd make a great video, and the smaller lake has big yellowbelly but has weed everywhere and is almost impossible to fish, but it might be boring though, it's a pretty all or nothing spot

@@robbiefishing also dont expect a metery on your first time there, it took me about 3 times, but the first time I took someones advice and just dropped chicken down at the pontoon I got a metery
@AndrewFishman8 ай бұрын
@@isaacb999_ Metery on 3rd trip is excellent fishing. I love chicken. Got a few vids using it in both fresh and salt for all sorts of fish. For weed bed goldens, float a yabby in the patches between the weeds or above the weeds. Chicken, worms, shrimp or soft plastics on a float will all work well too. Or rig a plastic on a worm or circle hook and fish it with no weight, or a very small running sinker. Rig so the point is buried in the back of the lure so it becomes more weed resistant. I like weed beds, they mean big, fat fish. But they can be tough to fish. And getting a bite is just half the fun, then you have to land the fish that is pretty determined to head straight down into the weed bed and bury you in green stuff. Love it!

Hey Robbie I’ve found another private dam that I got permission to fish and I’ve been catching both big catfish and decent Redfin. Oddly enough the Redfin have been there for years and years and the catfish haven’t been there in as long but they still survived any idea how so many survived? Thanks
@AndrewFishman8 ай бұрын
Catfish are very much survivors. They and our predatory natives lived together for millions of years, the redfin cannot teach them anything. Catfish have a very sharp, and slightly venomous, spine on their pectoral fin and dorsal spine. This makes them pretty unpalatable to many fish, as they run the risk of dying themselves. It is not uncommon on inland rivers to fins a large yebbly or even the odd cod that has a large tandanus stuck in its throat. The catfish, themselves, are very effective and efficient predators and will be eating any young reddies they can wrap their whiskery lips around. When not eating redfin, yabbies are a smorgasbord.
@robbiefishing8 ай бұрын
That sounds awesome mate. I reckon Andy has hit the nail on the head. Also, if the catfish were a little larger when stocked the redfin may not have been able to eat them.
