Down in Chauvin, I dropped a small cat and it stuck in my ankle!! I literally had to reach down and pull it out/off my ankle! That IMMEDIATELY put a stop to that fishing trip!! Some of the most INTENSE PAIN I have felt in 61 years!! Was laid up for FOUR days marking the swelling and redness with an ink pen as it spread up my calf! Day 5 it stopped advancing, day 6 the healing began!! "Thank GOD!" That used up my whole week of my first vacation at the new job!!!! A vacation I will NEVER forget!!!! Peace Love & Joy!

Future You-Tube video idea, collect some of the gar scales. Have them made into arrows, and use them to take down a hog. Providing the scales dry out and harden up enough to be used as a arrowhead.

The choupique is a primitive, sharp-toothed predator living in sluggish water. Also called bowfin, dogfish, cypress trout, grindel or grinnel, the choupique (Amia calva) is the only remaining member of the Amiidae family, a group of fishes that originated in the Upper Jurassic approximately 180 million years ago.

Good tip for handling smaller catfish, hold them from underneath, hook the one spine under your thumb, and your pinky finger on the other, you can remove the hooks easily and doesn't matter how much they wiggle you have a very good hold on them and they cant wiggle out your grasp. Way you were holding it if it jumped there's a good chance the fish could move forward and that dorsal fin will get you, trust me I learned that the hard way. Keep up the awesome videos
@dougmiller9512 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. A tip for catfish stings (getting poked by one of the spikes) rub the affected area on the side of the catfish's body, smear some of the slime on where you was poked, takes away most all of the pain almost instantly

I wonder if it works like a natural alleviant. Most animals with spines or venom or poison have resistance or someway to mitigate the effects. Nature is so cool.
