The conflicts in this movie: 1. Upper class woman can't fit in taking care of her mom, planning her daughter's wedding, and her dream career, despite the fact that she doesn't need the job and she could hire someone to help with either or both of the other things. 2. Upper class last doesn't like the mom of the guy her daughter's marrying despite having no objections to the groom himself. 3. Upper class lady's son got injured and can't play pro football, but has a new job immediately lined up in the field he wanted to be in.

Catching Faith: Homecoming? Wow now I'm all excited for Catching Faith: Far From Home and then God's not Dead: Endgame where Bibleman, Pastor Dave, Donkey Ollie, and the old lady from War Room team up to save Psalty from Professor Radisson, who has traveled forward in time to prevent his own conversion, as well as take 6 verses out of context (each corresponding with a colored page of the wordless book) in order to assemble the Apostasy Gauntlet and turn half of Earth's Christians into Atheists.

And yet, here we are. Well, I'm off to color a picture of a tree and get my life in order.

As someone who's grandma has dementia.... yeah it's rough. I don't live with her, but I try to call her every weekend. My aunt lives with her and is her caretaker, and wow I don't know how she does it. To me, it feels like my grandma, my Nona, died several years ago and the shell of her body is still walking around. Every time I call her, she asks the same questions. "Where are you living now? Oh, Oregon, that's nice. Do you have an apartment? Good. Is it furnished? Oh that's so good to hear." Yes Nona, I moved her over two years ago, I have told you this dozens of times and you just do not remember. She'll often ask about or tell me the same thing multiple times over the same conversation. My family tells me that hearing from me means a lot to her, that it helps, but... I don't see it, how can any of it help when she doesn't remember any of it? And it's stressful for me as well. It's not a pissing contest, obviously it's worse for her, but it's not like my stress from it doesn't matter just because she's effected even worse. I have to deal with these calls that feel pointless, and hearing her voice, but it's like there's just less and less of her every month and... Man, it's scary too! I don't ever want that to happen to me! The very thought of being like that, of not being able to remember, of hurting the people around me without even realizing it, it's terrifying. I'd rather die than be in her position, horrible as it might sound for me to say that. I don't want my boyfriend to ever have to deal with me in that kind of situation, or my family. Just... it's tough. So yeah all that by way of saying, I can definitely see the family eventually just kind of... sometimes talking like the old woman isn't there because in five or ten minutes she won't remember any of this anyway. I'm not saying it's good, I'm not a specialist, a mental health professional. Maybe it really is bad for someone with dementia or alzheimers to have people verbally ignoring them like that, not engaging and reminding them. I don't know. But I can definitely see how they'd reach a point where they're just tired and don't see the point in telling grandma for the, literally, thousandth time who that strange woman at the table is. How it would be easier and seemingly not at all harmful to just ignore her and wait for her memory to jog back. Growing old is _scary._ edit: Okay the cake eating thing sounds godawful though. Laughing at the mentally ill is vile.

I love these videos, and you're hilarious. I just wanted to point out that, at least in Tx, it isn't at all unusual to be on a little league or public school team with one or two girls at least. In fact, there was a girl I grew up with who always towered over all the boys on the team and lifted weights with us in the highest max group. I wanted to inform because of the way you mention it occasionally. Although I know most girls aren't huge, I have potent painful memories of every kid who played football in my neighborhood regularly being flattened by one girl in particular. I'm not super passionate about the issue or angry because I'm aware of the fact that even girls can get big muscles (and some start out with the biggest muscles). This is all to say that I honestly think the same logic applies to everyone- frail boys or girls might get hurt playing football and likely won't enjoy it anyways.
@Officerpranky5 жыл бұрын
long story short, I stopped playing football in middle school because it involved regularly being demolished by a girl.

Have you seen the Bill Paxton directed and starting Matthew McCoughney flick Frailty? In my opinion it's a masterpiece of a religious horror drama that's an interesting look at mental illness vs the nature of faith about these boys in small town Texas in the 1970's whose father says an Angel told him to kill people who were really demons and what it does to the kids and their relationship with their father. It's word of mouth has lessened since it's release but it was one of Sam Raimi, Stephen King, James Cameron and Roger Ebert's favorite movies when it came out and DAMN it REALLY holds up. I'm curious what you think of it as a religious flick. Keep up the great work :)
