It’s really sweet of you to instruct your gf to take the one with more meat. You do that sort of thing frequently in videos. It’s not like it’s a great sacrifice for you to give up the better food, but it shows that her wellbeing and happiness is always on your mind. Love the vids and love your character!

Get Toyota to let you use one of those new Land Cruisers, they're neat. You have me inspired, I'm gonna work up a batch of "black" mustard once I have enough mustard seeds collected locally, will try some sauteed wild radish tops tonight, and I spotted some nasturtiums on my way to the post office so I'll harvest a few of those leaves... Today I "harvested" some "not so wild" spinach behind my local Korean market's dumpster lol! Just cleaned it and froze it in batches.
@alexcarter88075 жыл бұрын
OK I just tried the sauteed wild radish tops, and they were delish. I should have measured how many oz. I gathered, but let's just say a handful. I looked for fat , soft stems with mostly buds and few flowers, and just cut 'em with my pocket knife. I took 'em out of the fridge just now, heated up the kind of lump of butter you use, put in some sesame oil, and used some "S&B fine seasoned pepper" which they sell in Japanese markets. And I just sauteed them until it looked like they were cooked. They were great, like broccoli with enough bitterness to make it interesting, and a bit fibrous, like you get with asparagus sometimes. They were really good. This is a little late in the year to find good tops, I found these in a somewhat shaded area where the plants are a bit behind the yearly cycle. They were on Bering Drive just off of Brokaw in San Jose here. You are very inspiring!

If you visit Hawaii, you should catch some moray eels. Those guys tie themselves in knots! And they'll get the line wound around themselves so bad, all you can do is cut your line. I don't know why we never thought of eating them.

Aaaaaaand today, riding my bike to the post office, I harvested some nasturtium leaves and a couple of budding tops, from a patch of them growing at the base of a cement wall, on Brokaw Road just east of Ringwood. So I'm having them now and they're interesting. Interesting texture, and the more you chew, the more they have a "wasabi" peppery taste. I've ordered an Iwatani brand butane stove too, because I have this little one-burner electric stove and it's really weak. I felt jealous every time you fire up your butane stove :-)

I got my stove! Not the same brand as yours but the same kind. Iwatani brand. It's a life-changer. I threw out my lame 1-coil electric cookers. Yesterday and tonight I did fry-ups that take me back to my teenage fishing days. Stir-fry veges, then fry the fish. Last night was rockfish, tonight was a nice salmon collar that was only $1.25 at Nijiya. Only seasoning was sesame oil and S&B "seasoned pepper" - came out delicious.
