My Grandpa loved the cheek meat from big cats. He caught a 67lb blue once. Each cheek was just over 3 lbs each. You should try it some time. You just have to carve them out and skin it. He also really loved carp eggs. If he caught a carp and it had a belly full of eggs he would try his hardest not to break the egg sack and he would fry them up. One of his favorite meals of all time.

Catfish is genuinely one of the best eating fish out there. But unlike most fish called "trash fish", catfish are the literal trash masters of the rivers. They're the main trash collectors (eaters) of the aquatic ecosystems, bottom feeders. I've found that the most delicious fish and meat often comes from the clean up crew of nature. Scavengers, opportunists and eat anythings are so delicious!

In Alabama, we put chicken liver on a 2/0 or 3/0 hook in small portion of panty hose to catch some whopper catfish. Just cut off a small portion of panty hose or the toe of a pair and put yoor chicken liver in it. Tie the panty hose on to your line with the end of the hook exposed. You don't sling the liver off. Try it, you'd be surprised how well it works. Just something different to experiment with. Also rig the weight on bottom so the bait suspends about 2-3 inches off the bottom. ❤

Flathead catfish are totally different from a channel or blue catfish . The bigger the flathead is the better eating they are. Belly meat from the big ones are awesome.

Usually we don’t eat the belly of cat fish you can cut the belly up and use it for catfish bait but it’s better for like setting jugs

Use a good set of fish grips when weighing those big fish. The ones that come with the scales are cheap and will not hold fish that size.

Flat-heads are best tasting in my opinion, but any of them between 1.5 to 3 pounds are the best eating.

Micah, circle hooks are not to be set like regular hooks. U gotta let the piggy take it and u just slowly take in the slack and once u feel the tug on it, you just lift up rod with a little tension and reel it in
