After watching you for 5 years i started getting serious about fishing, then... I moved to a place where the closest body of water that held fish over 2in was over 2 hours away... then I found this super discrete pond while riding my bike one day and on a bed o noticed this huge bass around 10 lbs easy now I’m here ordering new fishing tackle rods and reels and catching up on all the videos I missed while not fishing in the last 2 years thanks for always inspiring people to, Keep fishing, never stop.

That rod weirdly bend right before Jon set the hook, then it snap easily.

Dude did you not watch the video he dropped down a piece of tuna the line was slack then the fish grabbed the bait it took him a while to strip set because he's not use to strip setting and then he jerks the rod like he's jigging and thats what broke the rod fly rods arnt built for jigging motion they'll break easily look at the bend near the cork handle it's not made for that much pressure it was just a bad move on his part I've actually found out the hard way myself not to use a fly rod like normal fishing gear.

@@kmba-9197 agree, that was a bad move. But I see something unusual bending point on 01:09 until 01:12 will this also happen on a normal condition (45-60 degree angle) like fishing on a beach, creek or river. Thanks. 🙏

When I lived in Florida my boys and I used to go out to Fort Desoto Piers like once every couple of weeks and go blacktip shark fishing. We would catch all kinds of things out there like rays, snapper, and I even caught a crazy looking large crab once, but I used to go to Walmart (because that's basically all we had back then that was even remotely available to us back then) and buy my fishing gear (other than what we used to get at the bait shops). I would go out there with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur baitcaster lined with 80 lb mono and a Shakespeare heavy rod and catch blacktip shark, redfish, snook, and snapper off of pinfish and greenbacks that we'd castnet off the side of the pier. We had alot of fun with setups like those. It wasn't until we got a little older that I bought a big Penn Deep Sea rig for fishing for grouper and tarpon at the old Sunshine Skyway bridge and the Gulf Queen charter boat out of Clearwater Beach.
