For those who haven't watched Mark Rober's video yet, the guy at 5:13 isn't a scammer or money mule. He's the guy who owns the Airbnb house that the scammers used to pick up the package. Basically he's innocent, and was very understanding about the situation.

I wish I could do a Jim thing and as soon as they give a fake name I respond “Ok [Real Name]. Anyway I’m having some computer problems but they aren’t pressing. So how is the Wife and Kid? What were their names? Ah right [Wife Name] and [child name] right? Are they at your lovely home in [real address]? It really is a nice home. Would be a *real shame* if something happened to it. After all the police doesn’t crack down on scamming maybe they would overlook a house fire too. Anyway you have a good day [real name]. I’ll be seeing you later if I can make the time”

This is bad for sure... But They are much better than the racists people who colonized the country and starved millions of Indians for their whims and fancy ... Winston Churchill had millions of Bengalis (current Calcutta city) starve to death as all the food was sent to the troops. Our ancestors fought for freedoms they did not have... Now in Hinduism this is called karma, so may be these old people their ancestors would have in some way tortured and mistreated many people in India...

Gypsies come from Punjabi area in Northern India. Gypsies are exactly the same. They respect a good scammer, it's in their culture. I dont feel anything about the "victins" , if they are that dumb and go in the internet, they should take the consequences and the lesson and learn of it. Sorry, but this is a big Joke. He wasn't impressed by him. He was just trying to act all cool about it, probably because he has seen scam videos online and how scammers get worked up when they get scammed or exposed. He was trying to not come off as that. That's the least he could do to redeem himself lol. He also tried to play the victim card by say "you took my $100". All he was trying to do is make Jim either feel bad or feel that he wasted his time by not giving him THE reaction expected from scammers.

Today I woke up hearing my somewhat elderly upstairs neighbor saying she was suspicious of someone on the phone, she said she had never had Amazon call her about a refund before. Then I heard the magic words "Okay, what do you want me to do" and her walking over to her computer. I rocketed up out of bed, threw on some rags with my mask, and looking ridiculous I knocked on her door. She answered and I told her it was a scam. She immediately hung up and I told her to check out your channel. I only recognized the scam so instantly because of your excellent coverage! She said she had gotten hacked before for an Amazon purchase, so clearly her data is being passed around the call centers as she is probably prone to falling victim. Just wanted to thank you, your work is helping people who have never even heard of you by simple education.

Also if you have ever received any official advice / documentation from your bank, for instance you would know that they don't ever ask you for money or Information over the phone At best they might as you to come into a branch to speak to someone As for fake Amazon calls, fake internet calls..Real companies don't communicate like this to their clients.. and it's easily validated by calling up the official company and asking them to validate If you get a phone call, make sure you 100% are dialing the real company and not redialing a scam company But I guess that's the beauty of the scam, by making it dumb, only the most gullible or least Informed people end up falling for it Videos like this are great for showing people how the scams operate, what kind of things to look out for

In Asia it's often that people get calls from "police" or about your kid getting kidnapped/got caught by the police for doing some offense and all that and asking for money. Some of them even have background noises of your kid crying or screaming for help, some go into the details on how your kid calls you, whether is mom, ma, or mommy. Know you stuff, know you family, educate the elders. Go to the police, make police report. If you know languages and accents, it helps, A LOT.

@@Tim.Weaver I agree, you have to actively look for anti-scam stuff, or come across it by accident on YT. The town where I live (like most towns I expect), has it's own local Facebook group. A lady posted a question that she'd had a call from a local number, claiming to be Microsoft support and that they'd detected loads of problems on her device. She eventually hung up on them and they rang back a couple of times. She was asking if it was legitimate and should she talk to them again. It was clear from the comments, how many people didn't really have a clue that it was 'out of the box' scammer behavior. I obviously told her to avoid it and pointed her to Jim's channel. I do watch Kitboga as well as Jim. He does it more to waste their time in entertaining way. But watching his channel amazes me how aggressive and devious they can be, even when they think they're talking to an old man/lady. Disgusting. Even if the government are too tight to put an advert together, you would think all the banks could collectively make one together. The cost would be nothing to them.
