There is no sound on earth more glorious than an angry scammer. Hey Jim, hope this reaches you (your email button doesn't show one on KZbin). Today I woke up hearing my somewhat elderly upstairs neighbor saying she was suspicious of someone on the phone, she said she had never had Amazon call her about a refund before. Then I heard the magic words "Okay, what do you want me to do" and her walking over to her computer. I rocketed up out of bed, threw on some rags with my mask, and looking ridiculous I knocked on her door. She answered and I told her it was a scam. She immediately hung up and I told her to check out your channel. I only recognized the scam so instantly because of your excellent coverage! She said she had gotten hacked before for an Amazon purchase, so clearly her data is being passed around the call centers as she is probably prone to falling victim. Just wanted to thank you, your work is helping people who have never even heard of you by simple education.

Also if you have ever received any official advice / documentation from your bank, for instance you would know that they don't ever ask you for money or Information over the phone At best they might as you to come into a branch to speak to someone As for fake Amazon calls, fake internet calls..Real companies don't communicate like this to their clients.. and it's easily validated by calling up the official company and asking them to validate If you get a phone call, make sure you 100% are dialing the real company and not redialing a scam company But I guess that's the beauty of the scam, by making it dumb, only the most gullible or least Informed people end up falling for it Videos like this are great for showing people how the scams operate, what kind of things to look out for

@@Tim.Weaver I agree, you have to actively look for anti-scam stuff, or come across it by accident on YT. The town where I live (like most towns I expect), has it's own local Facebook group. A lady posted a question that she'd had a call from a local number, claiming to be Microsoft support and that they'd detected loads of problems on her device. She eventually hung up on them and they rang back a couple of times. She was asking if it was legitimate and should she talk to them again. It was clear from the comments, how many people didn't really have a clue that it was 'out of the box' scammer behavior. I obviously told her to avoid it and pointed her to Jim's channel. I do watch Kitboga as well as Jim. He does it more to waste their time in entertaining way. But watching his channel amazes me how aggressive and devious they can be, even when they think they're talking to an old man/lady. Disgusting. Even if the government are too tight to put an advert together, you would think all the banks could collectively make one together. The cost would be nothing to them.

We honestly need an organization of people like you fighting scammers and thieves

We need governments that share resources with all the people so that people with such knowledge end up using it for good. We don't need more police to fight crime, we need more institutions and laws that prevent people from turning to crime.

Like... the police investigation department? I know its not the same thing btw

Well the whole world has been in fight with drugs and when you stop a part of it another one rises up, I think that's about the same with scammers, so the best option really is informing people about scams and how they work

yeah we need our governments to give a shit, or at least 2 or three more shits than they give now.

As usual, it's going to have to be individuals like Jim and other like-minded specialists to solve these problems not a government or Interpol.

It's sad how innocent these victims can be. Can't believe that putting $12500 in a box through the shipping center doesnt raise any questions for them whatsoever. Most of these victims are old so my heart sinks whenever they're caught up in these. Thank you for being able to help.

This usually is spotted at the sorting office or depot and customer is informed. I once sent a birthday card with some money in it but to my surprise, Royal Mail (UK) sent it back to me with an advice/warning about sending money phew was glad to get my small change back though lol

Check Mark Rober's video, he shows the kind of state of mind these scammers put the victims in

This may sound kinda weird but I would love to just sit there and watch alongside while Jim does his 'stakeout' and gathers information beforehand. I know it could have a lot of long, boring moments but to be able to watch these scammers just what they go for, I feel like I'd learn a lot of on what to advise people to avoid.
