Great haul for sure!! Congratulations. We lived on the Oregon and have crabbed the Oregon Coast for dungenous for 6 years. We loved it so much, and taught the grandkids to crab too. We moved to Texas one year ago today. Grandkids come this Monday, plan to take them crabbing on Tuesday.

Pretty neat catch. They don't have to be 5 inches here in Alabama. But, I keep them 5 and larger. Keeps the population up.. and I appreciate you guys throwing back the females. Most people keep the ones that don't have eggs.

Is the crabbing good in Gavesron in early to mid-October? I'm planning a vacation to go crabbing and fishing. I want to try blue crabs. They sound really yummy. Buy a telescopic extending paint roller handle. Buy 2 hose clamps big enough to go around both the net handle and extension pole. Attach net to extension pole and no more hanging over the rail.

I know where this is lol. That's the place and the exact dock I go to. Good job following the rules and not trying to the dock. I take old water bottles and fill them up and tie to them. Most people don't even know the rules out there and if they do they don't follow them.

I also love the fact that your throwing a lot of barely legal and especially females back even though you don't have to if they don't have eggs. For a younger man practicing this much conservation is very impressive. I also kayak fish that entire area for many many miles around and if you ever want to go catch some reds in the shallows hit me up and I'll put you on some good ones. Those female crabs with the rounded apron isn't a virgin she's already had a sponge or two of eggs ànd pending on the size female her first rodeo will lay 700,000 plus eggs . The virgin females has more of the triangle apron , those should be thrown back and of course you know the male apron is long and slender . I would try to balance out the females and males because if the female has that rounded looking apron she has already contributed 700,000 plus eggs for regeneration of the crab population . Fish on .
