I GOT A NEW FISHING BUDDY! I was able to help him land His first ever Stripped bass this weekend! We all had a blast! After thoroughly enjoying ourselves, we got serious and dropped our lines in the water. I quickly picked up one off a anchovies head but Zay took the lead quickly and dominated the fishing game. I am happy to make a memorable trip for the young man and hopefully plant the desire for the great outdoors.
Skip to about 8 mins for my detailed diagram on how to use the green light!

They honestly make all the difference! This time of year though I would be up in a bit shallower water and the north end of your at pleasant. The water is much cooler and it’s spawning time soon if it didn’t already going on. When the water warms up, head out to the deep. Top of cliff drop offs is great. In the desert lakes, fish dig down deep to get that oxygen rich environment. Thanks for the support!

Why is it so hard to catch a fish?
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Lake pleasant has a very particular way of catching common species. If your not doing the right thing at the right time at the right spot, you will definitely get skunked. My first year there was terrible in terms of actually landing a fish. After some tips from locals and self discovery, I did much better!

Great video and good information. Where are those tires?? THank you
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! The tires are used as the wave breaks for the privately owned marina on the south side by the dam. The tires depth range anywhere from 40ft to 200ft I believe! I recommend the crest of the hill. If you drive from the east side, follow the tires going west. It will be relatively flat and then just drop. Fish anywhere from the top of the drop to the lighted metal buoy.

@@BoozeManOutdoors Hey buddy! So I was at Pleasant yesterday early morning 6/16. I came down toward the dam from the west and across the dam to the tires. When I got near the dam side of the tires....my low water alarm went off on my fish finder....like 4-6 feet....stayed this way as I travelled for a bit. There were no hazard buoys at all in the area. At first I thought it was a malfunction. It was still a bit dark so I couldn't see into the water. I headed straight back out toward the lake and suddenly the depth went to like 192. Can you tell me what that was over there?? Like 4-5 feet is nothing if the lake level drops a little bit. No big deal if you can't, and thank you!
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 11 ай бұрын
@@KG-xf9ew it highly depends on the current water level. The lake fluctuates a ton throughout the year. That lake is actually the main water supply for phoenix! It could be accurate because I do know there is some big hills that are visible when the water drops enough. Big cliffs too. If you don’t gave a depth chart, I highly recommend the I-boating navigation charts. Looks like a little red ship icon. You can download the lake for free but it does cost to get the whole US/Canada. It is great to see future spots to try on lakes like that and understand how the channels flow.

Do you have to reserve a boat in camping spot when you fish at night?
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 10 ай бұрын
I can not speak on the north end currently, but on the south end where I am fishing in this video you do not! I simply show up and pay to enter the marina and camping area by the Dam and leave as i please. When I was there two years ago or so, the north end was only open during the day and they would tow your car after they closed. It was a bit frustrating since they didn’t care before Covid! More fish on the south end in the summer anyhow.

What model is that fish scanner? And can you like mobile mount it on a jet ski?
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
It is a hummingbird helix 5 gen2 with down imaging. As for mounting on a jet ski, If your comfortable drilling holes go for it! It would work great on there. If your thinking temporary and don’t want to drill holes, get yourself some pvc pipe, zip ties, hose clamps, and a large C clamp. You can put it together to clamp on your boat or ski easily. Cut pvc to length. Run/pack the transducer wires in the pipe. Drill holes through the bottom of the pvc, zip tie the transducer to the bottom. Do the same for the mounting base of the sonar itself on the top. Use hose clamps to hold the large C clamp on the pvc pipe. Boom done. Use the c clamp to secure to your boat and just tap power lines into your battery. Feel free to message me if you need help!

How do you power your lights ? Thx
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Virtually all LED fishing lights run off standard 12v power supply. I run this to my cigarette port on my motor battery box. It houses a cheap everstart deep cycle battery. You can get away with running on a smaller battery, like a dirt bike battery, with clamps and still get many good hours of fishing in. Hit me up if you have any other questions! I am on Instagram too!

@@gsxroyce256 sometimes it is like that. I tend to see more baitfish in locations that has structure. I’m much more likely to get a large bait ball along a cliff, submerged hill, or debris. In the winter months in the North, I do not even get a bait ball. The light will still attract game fish though easily.

Thank you so much! Okay so I use 20lb braid with 6-8lb p line leaders. I only use 4-8tt leads. Stick with 1/8 to 1/4 oz WHITE lead jigs and quarter your anchovies. They are biting real light and the low profile bait prevents them from mouthing and stripping your hook so much. They just take it bro. It was to easy this weekend

Try targeting 60 foot of water and drop your light 10ft. Within 30 mins you should see them. Try to fish 20-40ft down and jig by hand. Use 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigs. White is way to go. Quarter your anchovies as well. Bite is light and some won’t take big bait or will just strip the hook. New video will be up tonight!

do striped bass out there spawn?
@BoozeManOutdoors
@BoozeManOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Yes they do! Best place to find them during the spawn is the north fingers. If you have a boat, try the river inlet or near eagle run. Fun fact, they actually had a poll to introduce predator fish like pike or muske to combat the stripped bass population. It never gained popular vote and that’s why there is virtually no limit on striped bass harvest at lake pleasant!
