You are the BOSS!! So envious - can’t find a Stripe on Smith Lake AL to save my life. Winter fishing here is supposed to be tops too but its totally opposite for me? Hopefully one day I’ll figure it out but if I don’t: Spring is coming!

Great video. Were you drifting or spot locked?
@theoriginalcaptjack11 ай бұрын
Thanks; I’ll drift, move slowly .2-.6mph with the trolling motor or spot lock in the winter just depends.

Great Video!! Will be visiting Lanier early March on kayaks, any suggestions on what part to fish around?
@theoriginalcaptjack3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, March is a transition month but the humps, saddles, points get good especially for spotted bass. Night time striper fishing around the same places and lights is usually best.

Seems Capt. jack done switch from artificial baits to full blown top shelf live baits.
@theoriginalcaptjack3 жыл бұрын
The live bait bite is too consistent to ignore. It's true trout are more money but each bait is a striper sometimes two!!

lol love you so much but the fish are biting I can't come home now ;)

What does tapping the boat do?? …around 13:50?? Attract bait or the biggins??
@theoriginalcaptjack2 жыл бұрын
The tapping sound is commonly referred to as “drumming” and can gain the attention of striped bass. Many times it’ll draw them in to your bait spread and / or give you an opportunity to present a lure.

The fish come from a fishery and when they feed them in the big fiberglass tanks, they bang on the side before throwing the food in.

You mentioned stripers at the bottom alot. Is this normal for them to be at the bottom? How far down usually?
@theoriginalcaptjack Жыл бұрын
Hi, definitely is common in the heart of winter and or during a cold winter. Generally when the bait is layered up thick on the bottom the stripers are there or aren’t too far behind. It’s the old saying find the bait find the fish.

I'm local and fish lake lanier. Where area of Lake Lanier are you on? What bait do you use?
@theoriginalcaptjack8 ай бұрын
Hi I live in Buford but fish all over the lake mainly out of the east side. I use all baits just depends - in my videos you can see I catch them on a variety of live and artificial baits - I prefer artificial when possible

Which part of the lake you’re fishing during winter? Near the dam, middle of the lake or way down the lake end.
@theoriginalcaptjack3 жыл бұрын
Hi Phuc, I usually fish from mid lake creeks to north end creeks and bays/pockets along the way. Find the deep bait and you’ll find the fish.
