Jesus this song was huge in 1994. I think I heard it more than any other song that year, and I never played it once by choice. It was just everywhere. Still not a song I go out of my way to listen to, but I appreciate it more now than than I did then. Heard it in the car around 2004, and it just clicked with me that day. Would be my walkout song if I were a UFC fighter.

This group is a quartet from Sweden just like ABBA was, but the 2 girls and one of the guys are all siblings. Their debut album in the US was titled "The Sign" featuring this song and was certified ten times platinum having sold 10 million copies. Their first 4 studio albums combined to sell over 30 million copies ranking them the 3rd best Swedish group behind Roxette and of course ABBA for sales all time.

"I'm happy now living without you...I left you oh oh oh"...best description is how Brad put it. Happy break up song. My favorite music I can best describe as being like this. Neyo-go on girl,gorilla zoe-echoes,and big Sean-idfwu. They take you back to a time of rebuilding and bettering yourself in spite of what was just gone all of a sudden. Nothing makes me happier then showing those in my past where I am in comparison...the sweetest of revenges!

@@JonnyQuest64 That was just my friend's theory. But maybe it was inspired by the experiences of Ulf, the blonde guy, who was part of a white supremacist skinhead gang in his teens but then changed his way and became a pacifist to the point of his friends nicknaming him Buddha.

Well crafted, well produced, very danceable pop. If you're someone who thinks 'pop' is a dirty word, don't listen to this song! :^> But it's not _disposable_ music; the chord progression makes good sense, and it's fresh when they switch to minor. I always liked the reggae-tinged synth bass.
@BASSER81
@BASSER81 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah when minor chords were part of their magic. I mean you look at pop songs today and it is the same 3 chords throughout. This band, whilst very pop, always had multiple changes in chords for the verses, instrumental section, mid 8th and chorus. This why their stuff is not disposable nor forgettable. I believe Roxette and ABBA also shared this higher effort in crafting pop tracks

Fluff karaoke music that's catchy and easy to listen to. The lyrics are decent. They were VERY popular for a long time in dance clubs.

I agree but I’m sure that the Leo Moracchioli version is as close as we’ll ever get.

this is as 90:ies swedish music as it gets :D If u liked it u should have a listen to their other songs and also react to Roxette, another swedish band that was big in the 90:ies, it was pretty much them setting the tone for that era in Sweden :)

This was played as often as Macarena was a couple yrs later. Trust me, that means millions of times. Shit was omnipresent in media, imescapable. Lotta people liked it, but a lot hated it and them for crossing the line between catchy and annoying. That happens in pop occasionally, tho I don’t believe they were intentionally creating an earworm like Gangnam Style or other obvious 1 hit wonders. They did have a few hits in the US circa 93-94.

The 80s for me was all about Tom Petty, Prince, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen and Some Dire Straits. Most all started in the 70s. Love your channel and so much growth ahead!

I kind of liked The Cure and Depeche Mode too, though they are a bit strange.
